Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

My mate is a scouser and he's absolutely buzzing about their window

My mum is a scouser and half my family are pool fans. They think Isak, Ghuei and Rodrigo are still to come.

If that happens their window is Kerkez, Wirtz, Fringpong, Isak, Eketete, Ghuei, Rodrigo.

Begs the question is that on paper the best window of any club ever?

Only consolation is it fucks the goons.

I, nor do any Forest fans really care what people think about us when we feel our club is getting shafted. Maybe your owner should have the same passion for the club.
Oh good, because I think you're a twat who should fuck off. Don't you realise this is a Spurs Echo Chamber and we have more than sufficient problems amongst ourselves, without dickheads like you coming here and stirring the shit a bit more.

Oh and you're an insufferable bore too.

Admin Admin - having the MGW nonsense in here is spoiling this thread big time. Can't the MGW thread be re-opened for the sake of our sanity?

Something very fishy is going on with Chelsea.

Valuation of N.Jackson is 80m +. A joke amount, but it being Chelsea they'll probably get it.
They bought Veiga for 14m and he played less than 10 times for them before being loaned out. Now talk Athletico will buy him for triple the amount.
They consistently sell their unwanted players for huge money.
Their (published) wages are not even that high any more, but still seem to attract player after player.

What's going on? Could they be paying backhanders to players/agents/clubs? Any other explanation?
The lucky coincidence of having a couple of their excess deadwood being practicing Muslims at the moment the Saudi league was most aggressively splashing ridiculous cash to stock up on known players in volume has led to widespread misperception of the whole Boehly/Chelsea thing.

They're just doing speculative day trading in up-and-coming footballer talent, up to whatever limits they can get away with.

There are some quasi-Spurs supporters on this forum. That's quasi, but could easily be used to refer to crazy supporters on here, but at this stage I think if we fail to sign Gibbs-White, it may be quite damaging.

Remember we won the Europa less than 2 months ago, are in the CL, and considered one of the big 6/7.

I don't for one minute believe Gibbs-White is this special player, or one that I got so excited about signing but it represented or represents an attempt to bring in a player of objective quality into an area where we were so short last season. There is no doubt a bid has been submitted.

If the issue is with Forest, and this falls because they won't abide by their clause, then it will need to be reported as such.

If we are being held to ransom or if Gibbs-White goes elsewhere, for pretty much the same amount we have bid, then it paints quite a sorry picture.

And like football matches, it's that fickle. If Gibbs-White joins, then good news. If he stays at Forest, then okay, not the best but possibly understandable. Akin to a draw. If he goes elsewhere, that's like conceding the losing goal in the last 2 or 3 minutes. Hard to recover from.

This should be done and dusted.

you'd imagine MGW is hoping he doesn't have to join up with them at all and that this all gets sorted before he has to get on any plane.

You don't have to have a contract with someone to sue them you know.
You have to be able to have a valid legal basis (be it negligence, personal injury or breach of contract for example) and must be able to demonstrate a loss caused by it, I don’t believe we can here at all, only MGW potentially can from the side we are on, but the issue there is it likely a breach of contract at his end which has started this off. At best if MGW took Forest to court and won, Forest would be made to make good the contract, (allow him to leave on release clause and possibly award him loss of earnings for the period from when his release clause was deemed to be activated)
Us being able to say those nasty people wouldn’t sell to me. Is not a legal case, we just don’t have one here

Firstly, half of those are not true. And the ones that are true, we were complaining about we got completely shafted over.

Maybe think independently & don't just believe everything you are fed.

Why you posting on a spurs forum then?

Yeah big Americanism that imo. Most footballers fucking love the game and obsess over it. Like I said, Luis Suarez can barely walk without pain but he's still playing .. it isn't for money, it's for love of the sport. Plenty of players talk about the sport like giddy schoolkids and still watch/comment on it constantly.

I don't doubt there are job elements to it all, but a majority of footballers love football imo. To say otherwise is just being cynical for the sake of it.
I've known a couple of ex elite players and one said something I've never forgotten . He said the idea most of them 'do it for the money ' is bollocks. He said and I'm paraphrasing ' playing in a big game in a packed stadium is an insane high, scoring in this kind of game is the best, only mind blowing sex gets close."

The player I'm talking about played and scored in a Glasgow Derby, he said he'd have paid money to play in it. It's actually kind of obvious really, said the bigger untold story beyond the money fixation, is how the fuck do you replace it? He said depression among players after the career is incredibly common. You feel nothing will ever compare to it.

Thanks for clarifying all the facts of the situation. It is great to have a great discussion based on facts.

Keep coping fellas. I'm sure you will all whip out the insults again now, always the sign of a good argument.

I get your defending your club but please understand that a release clause in a contract is a legal obligation. I have never heard of a club simply deciding it doesn’t want to allow a release clause to happen when it’s being triggered. I could understand if the RC had specific terms like ‘only a team that finishes 6 or higher can trigger’ but far as had been made public it’s a £60m fee that must be paid within 2 years and yes potentially the agent told our club the clause which could get the agent in trouble if it could be proven but that is by the by.

Your owner is seen by pretty much everyone in football as a wild man and borderline lunatic, similar to how our chairman is seen as a tight arse barstard. All humans are creatures of habits and based on those habits your owner thinks he can wing it and he might get away with it but bare in mind any player going to Forest in the future will know that a release clause is meaningless. The agent of MGW is CAA Stellar who are perhaps the biggest agency in football, they won’t forget that.

I certainly wouldn’t defend Levy if he tried to ignore a release clause being triggered. Not that Levy ever gives them out.

So world class stadium atmospheres, world class sex partners not so much

Depends on the loss, doesn't have to be financial.

If, as reported by Romano, there was an agreement in place, which then led to the medical being booked, there are potential grounds for legal actions, as they could potentially have reneged on an agreement. If negotiations have taken place to lead to that agreement, it is likely they have been minuted. If they have, that is the type of written "proof" that can be used in a legal case, whether there is an official contract in place or not.

Lots of if's, but's and maybe's, but it just shows that the potential for legal actions is there, rather than your assertion that there is none.
