Despite losing a step Son is probably still lightning fast by MLS standards though.

Last season he was still wreaking havoc on Hoffenheims and Elfsborgs of the world, despite having a -much- more difficult time against better opposition.
It's not so much speed, the athleticism level in MLS is pretty high, it's that his technical ability and game reading is miles above MLS level, where there are tons of defensive mistakes to feast on. It's much easier to ghost in behind defenders as he does so well.

I'd back Sonny to smash it in MLS, I feel like he fits the profile of guys who succeed over here. The travel burden won't faze somebody who's been jetting back and forth to Seoul his whole career.

Really short conflab that one

Levy: we’ve got loads of money in our project

Rodrygo: really? So 250k pw shouldn’t be a problem?

Levy: you’re through to Daniel Levy’s voicemail, please leave a message after the tone and his baldness will get back to you soon.

Rodrygo: Mr Levy? U still there?
You forgot to add that Daniel probably reversed the call charges too.

There’s no way he meant this season. He’s not mental.

But yes, we appear to be without a cohesive plan and looking back, never seem to have one. Always a hole or two left in the squad. Always signing players later than most would suggest makes sense.

My firm and constant belief that the owners, directors, staff and managers of football clubs know more about how to run a club than the weirdo hive mind of a forum, is being shaken this summer. Clubs that we should be competing with seem to have their shit together and we just don’t. Why are they doing what they are and we aren’t? Doesn’t make sense to me.
To be honest, none of us should be surprised in the slightest considering the evil dwarf's late May/early June statement.

"Can't spend what we don't have", "won't spend what we do have either" etc etc. He could literally have just said:

"Austerity time, you mofos. COYS, Daniel."

I’d rather see him go out like a boss as he did in Bilbao and the subsequent celebrations than the powers continue to diminish and he leaves without anyone noticing. At the moment it’s not gonna get better than a final competitive game winning a European final, final game at WHL parading a trophy, final ever game in South Korea to say goodbye.

Son delivered far more than i ever thought he would, and has scored the best goal that I have ever seen from any Spurs player since Ricky's at Wembley.

He should go, not because anyone wants to see the back of him but because the memory of him lifting the EL Trophy should be the last one we all think of when his name is mentioned.

Obviously not as prolific as Kane, but Kane wouldn't have scored as many goals for Spurs without him.

Will likely go but will never be forgotten.

I know, and would agree if we had signed someone good enough to replace him, but we havent. We'll be weaker without him. Sounds like he will go though. Even if the manager doesnt want him to. I just posted the full interview in the Frank thread so it will be good to watch that and put some context to these quotes.

I won't be surprised if the MGW deal still goes through this summer and we get him before the window closes. Many discussions on that video with his club owner about his new deal. My view of the body language is that he knows a deal is going through but he needs to wait, be patient, be polite and go along the process. The process of making the NF owner look good, gets his 70 mil (or so), MGW goes to Spurs, and everybody is happy, even fans of both sides.

Given that thought. If the player does not want to fight to join us, I absolutely don't care about him. Excellent player the checks all boxes of what we need, but, if he doesn't want to join, why waste my time. Spurs are bigger and more important to me.
You are an idiot. MGW did us like a kipper to get an improved deal
