Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I’m actually not certain Rodrygo is quite as good as everyone thinks he is. He’s obviously way better than anything we’ve got. But for say £90m and huge wages I’m not sure he’s actually that level of player.

Jackson is one of the worst decision makers and finishers I’ve seen on a football pitch.

Robinson is a decent LB, but pretty limited technically. £50m would be an insane overpay.

Watkins is close to 30 and has always relied on his pace, again horrible use of funds.

Palhinha, limited footballer, but would understand on loan to help us win more duels.

Elliot is a massive bellend who’s got huge question marks on his off the pitch actions. He is a talented player though.
Fair enough! So you are happy going into the 25/26 season with all of those 6 mentioned?

He’s got a contract through to 2028.

There is zero reason for him to leave. RM wanting to sell is irrelevant.
mbappe and vini both want to play in the LW spot. rodrygo should get out, hes not appreciated there as much as he should be imo, its also a sinking ship, now theyve lost their midfield they had and benzema, they are going to struggle. dont be surprised if they have 3-4 years potless.

I won't be surprised if the MGW deal still goes through this summer and we get him before the window closes. Many discussions on that video with his club owner about his new deal. My view of the body language is that he knows a deal is going through but he needs to wait, be patient, be polite and go along the process.
Really?!

I’m no expert but his body language looked more like someone was holding a Stanley knife to his bare Jacob’s in case he put a word out of place, than his dream move was still on!

:mourcry:

yeah he's also small. Not a deadly finisher.

all things you can easily say when you no he's definitely not coming here

The bit in bold is how we should feel about these sort transfers.

We are rich, in the CL, playing in one of the best stadiums in the world, in one of the best cities in the world, in arguably the best league in the world. We have just won the Europa League. Our fan base is fucking massive. We are the world-famous Tottenham Hotspur. We should be pushing on instead of standing still.

We have been conditioned into thinking second-tier players are our level and that we can't compete with the current top four.

Edit: I realise that signing Madrid players is unlikely, but the point still stands

The amusing part of this is that Levy came out and said he wants to win the PL and CL… and now the football gods seem to have offered him the opportunity to prove that he meant it.

You couldn’t ask for a better statement to back up those words and having CL football, with the stadium and facilities means you might have a shot if you are ready to be brave enough financially.

We all know he isn’t though

Want an upgrade to our midfield before season starts. Want us to dominate games and protect back 4. Struggling to think though realistically we can get to upgrade our midfield though?
Actually spend on a great, long-term piece who could be a generational player for us, and get Wharton. Sure, he'll be very expensive, but break that cost down over 10 years. What we'll do, is spend that one big fee on 3 average players who'll become deadwood. This is the Spurs way.

He’ll get out at some point, just not to us.

Juve, Chavs, Dippers, Bayern - someone will come in for him.

Not sure why you’ve chosen to pluralise this

You’re incessant defending and meek acceptance will only prolong the status quo of underachievement

Trust me your immediate translation is deeply lost

(Ffs)
Trust me, I have no power to prolong the status quo. This statement alone shows how out of touch you are and how you see other fans that don't agree with you as being somehow complicit in how the club is run. Like any of us have any such power. Dude...

And it's "your" not "you're."
