Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

£45m for Watkins sounds top heavy but if they are open to selling we should be interested. We definitely won the final didn’t we!?!?

If United lost the EL then pull off a window with Cunha, Mbeumo, and a top striker…

Despite having a decrepit stadium that leaks and every financial woe we could have planned for them to suffer, then Daniel Levy has nowhere left to hide.

Every part of his plan will have come together and he still won’t have the ability to compete with them.

There is no doubt that so far this summer window our transfer business has been slow and underwhelming compared to the likes of Liverpool and the Chavs but i dont think there is any need to push the panic button just yet.

We have a new manager through the door in Thomas Frank someone who is a highly accomplished and respected tactician in the game.

He will undoubtedly want to bring new signings in as quick as possible to work with them before the season kicks off but he also needs and wants to assess the squad he has inherited to make the best decisions for the club going forward

All of the scouting and analytical team behind the scenes will be drawing up lists of potential new signings who will fit into Frank's style

MGW would've added something to the squad we have but he's decided to stay at Forrest so we move on.

There is no point making signings for the sake of it they have to be right and sometimes that takes time

For one of the first times ever i think Levy will spend big this summer we just have to watch this space to see who it is We go in for ( we like many clubs havent really been linked with anyone so i get transfer news is quite frustrating even if 98% of the time its bullshit)
Mate, this is too sensible a post to be taken seriously. Please start slagging off Levy and ENIC 74 times a day using the same 3 arguments, if you want to have any credibility.

Sad to have to talk about them lot down the road again, but judging by videos and social media their squad is absolutely buzzzing at the signing of Gyokeres. Given them all a real lift, which I’m sure will last going into the season.

Compare and contrast to us. After the high of Bilbao the players are not stupid. Like the fans, they’ll know we’re being left short again gojng into the grind of the PL and CL. Words cannot express how much I loathe the owners of this club.

It sounds like it would be cuckoo land if he hadn’t done this dozens of times before.

I listed examples- Dybala, Moutinho, Aguero, Bastoni, hell even Gibbs-White is another example of this. Big names that show ambition but never actually come off, and we get the routine of “we tried but the deal was too difficult”.
Don't forget the Lautaro special "we would've signed him but Chelsea moved quickly for Lukaku, and Inter couldn't let both go" nonsense.

Not sure why a Spanish journo would know what positions we are looking to fill but with Son and Moore likely out the door i'd be pretty alarmed if we weren't looking for a left winger. No doubt Solomon will start getting talked up soon.

He’s an Athletic journo. He probably asked his PL colleagues.

Not that they would know much more but they should at least have more idea.

Good.

We need not only a degree of quality, but also players who have a hardened edge.

We have a pussycat set of players in my opinion, and my hope in Frank is that he seeks to bring in some players with fire and aggression, alongside their expected quality.

It’s good that the bullshit rumour is dead but there’s no way we should be turning our nose up at elite level, established stars.

I respect the sentiment but this is Daniel Levy’s club,

He doesn’t give a fuck what assessment Frank makes of the squad and he’s not waiting for that assessment before acting.

Tel just gave an interview where he said openly that he didn’t speak once with Frank before signing.

Levy hasn’t hired a coach like Frank because he wants his opinion on squad building.

We aren’t signing anyone because Levy doesn’t want to.

I think we need to find the beating pulse of the team before we talk of so-called elite players.

Our approach is all wrong on transfers, or type of player. Too feeble.

Rodrygo looks another one of those, so he only succeeds if he goes to a club who possess players who allow him to do his stuff. Not something we have.

TBH, not saying Rodrygo per se, but with Ange we might still be able to convince more players to come. He's magically persuasive in his phone calls, and now has the tag as a European Cup winner coach, whether people like it or not. Definitely a much attractive coach to play under than an ex-Brentford Thomas Frank in terms of accolades.
What about playing for Arteta…..a serial second place achiever.

Naive to believe the fan base can affect the direction of the club ? What happened to you ?

For clarity I’m not necessarily levy out but I think he’s progressively making a bigger shit show of things on the footballing front and rightly needs to be called out

It’s certainly better than your natural instinct to touch toes and take
In this day and age? No it can't. Not by protesting or whining, anyway. And not as far as large investment companies are concerned.

The only way they can affect it is by refusing to spend money to the point that it makes a serious dent to the club's revenue, and we both know that's not going to happen. Supporting a team is too much of a drug to let go.

As for Levy, I wouldn't mind us getting new owners. He's taken us as far as he can and a change may be what we need. But I'm not sure that would automatically solve all of our problems or get us to where we want to be any faster.

We need both.

Franks job is to build a beating pulse of a team with an 11 that has chemistry and threat.

He’d find it much easier to do that with a Rodrygo level player than without any.

Son is either leaving or long past his best physically. Tel and Odobert are still talented kids, Richy can’t stay fit.

That leaves Kudus, Johnson and Solanke as our senior forwards. They will start as our forwards as well. They were signed from Forest, West Ham and Bournemouth and unless Frank can build some chemistry, they aren’t individually levels higher than the clubs we signed them from.
