Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

A negative post but one I'm finding hard to disagree with!
We do currently have a sub-standard squad, a squad who wants to apparently challenge on all fronts and win The CL and EPL.

Not a chance when we have regular starters like Maddison, Solanke, Johnson, Benny, The Legend that is Sonny, just to name a few! Should we keep and play these players regularly come 25/26, we are looking at no more than mid-table mediocracy, likely early exit from the CL and a bang average run in the domestic cups imo

Major exits and major investment is needed!
At least if there were major exits I could, by consuming enough spirits, delude myself into believing that cash has been infused which can be spent over the next few windows, and a brighter future could still be ahead.

As it stands we have simply repeated our Sisyphean change of manager without change of players.

I am not slighting Frank in any way, he should bring a marked improvement, but it's unserious to return the same group of players after we finished one place above the drop

You asked for signings

You asked for activity

Ask and daddy Daniel will provide

Nothing ruff about this signing

A signing of real pedigree

Who's a good boy Daniel

we've gone to the Dogs ....:)
May as well put the transfer window on paws.

All them rumors are far fetch-ed anyway, the ball is definitely not in our court.

We're just a bone-a-fido joke club.
Is this Daniel's way of telling us he can lick his own bollocks?

Never said he's not a quality player. He is. I was referring to the knee-jerk "appease the fans" comment. If he's who Frank wants, great. But only then. And quite frankly we didn't know exactly who Frank wants.
Fair enough! But if you read your post again, I think you will see how I interpreted how you didn't think Eze was a quality player. And of course we don't know exactly who Frank wants, if we did it would stop all the speculative posts on here we all make.

Wtf ? Ha ha behave mate. Goodness me

Sure but they could also tell us to go fuck ourselves.

Or they could say sure, take the player, but we retain the under-market buyback we had with Como, in which case we get all of the "still-learning 20 year old" with none of the "future superstar upside".

What I mean by "complicated" is quite specifically "having enough money is not the only factor".

They could try that because it’s complicated like you say.

But to repeat, that’s surely why our board are so well paid?

That’s a bit silly. I’m not totally sold on him but he’s very fast, very strong and has a great leap on him as well as being able to strike a ball incredibly cleanly.

He’s not very polished or composed yet but he’s very young for a CF and producing good numbers. He’s well beyond what Daka ever was.

He apparently was Arteta’s number one, he didn’t really want Gyokeres but their new DoF pushed Gyokeres.

The reality is, there simply aren’t enough top-quality players available to match the number of clubs with serious money to spend. We’re now seeing clubs paying £60–70 million for players who aren’t anywhere near world class. Meanwhile, the top four continue to strengthen and widen the gap, while we’re being left behind, forced to scrap for players others have passed on.
We should have made those two or three key signings before heading out on tour. Pre-season should be about integrating new players for Frank to work with — not scrambling to fill gaps when the season’s almost here.

Thomas does know how to play, but does he really know which players to buy to improve on how he wants to play? I hope he doesn't leave too much to his fellow countryman Lange to send him the lists of players to choose instead because it's gonna be very filtered by Levy first.

What am I talking. Surely Thomas is the manager that will work within the budget of Levy and a yes man to him, that's why he's being hired out of those stringent criteria they have set out to in hiring.

Answering to myself is a new level of boredom now in the window.

Outside of wins and losses, Frank will be judged on player development. Spurs will feel like they've invested a lot in certain players and they want to see some kind of return.

Let's see what he can get out of players like
- Tel
- Odobert
- Bergvall
-Gray
