Have to remember we still have to pay stadium off. But on flip side since poch left we have wasted money hiring wrong managers and mediocre players. Levy needs to get structure right again imo like it was under poch. Right manager, modern tactics, developing players, academy knocking on door getting in first team, right scout (mitchell). Was like a perfect pyramid. Since 2019 the pyramid has been dismantled.
I don't think the structure was ever right since the Arnesen days (and even then...). We had a good manager and a good core of players under Poch, but still wasted money on mediocre players. We need our football operations to be run like Brighton and then move to being run like Liverpool. We're still not close to either.

It's important to note that the "right" structure has changed dramatically, almost immeasurably, since the Arnesen days. A total tip-to-tail revolution in the sophistication of the sport.

And who's the only team in the league still under the same leadership as the Old World? You guessed it! :levyhands:

Which rebukes the idea that we only buy players to sell for a profit, doesn't it?

We rip ourselves for pissing money away, but we're not the only ones.
United even under Fergie were not immune to spunking massive fees on crap players or players who weren't PL quality.
Hargreaves, Veron, Forlan, Di Maria, Zaha, Sanchez, Sancho, Anthony....They may as well have thrown about half a billion down the shitter rather than sign that lot.
Arseholes have, signed Jesus, Arshavin, Chamakh, Pepe, etc etc
I bet city and Liverpool have pissed away a fortune too.
And for every over priced dud Chelsea have sold, I bet there's plenty of Winston Bogardes too.

Hojlund: I'm going to stay and fight for my place at Man Utd

Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has vowed to "stay and fight" for his place at Old Trafford despite intense transfer speculation.

Hojlund starred as United impressed in their second Premier League Summer Series win over Bournemouth. The Dane opened the scoring as Man Utd cruised to a 4-1 victory.

His goal and performance came just hours after Sky Sports News reported that RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko had emerged as a top target for United.

Amorim lauded the striker after the game saying his performance "made the team play better".
