I did watch him play extensively. It’s not hard, he was playing every week for a premier league team.
He’s very limited and one dimensional, but incredibly good at the one dimensional thing he can do. That’s fine. He’s Ugarte who I like but who is part of United struggling a bit in possession.
He was also very available with us having a totally free run at him and on a lovely loan with option to buy deal. It doesn’t make it a bad signing, but it is a classic ENIC signing reeking of ease and opportunism.
Nothing wrong with those once in a while when you combine it with ambition to go after the harder to attain players.
Palinha is a decent move IMO, very experienced destroyer type midfielder who has done well in the PL in the past with no obligation to buy him outright, kicks the can down the road a bit for the likes of Gray and Sarr to prove they can hang with the big boys or else find a 6 who can, at 30 if we do make him permanent can get 3 good years out of him at least.
