Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It pisses me off that we are in this situation. Of course, we needed a no 10 anyway but as always if anything can go wrong for us, it does. See a move collapses for a very good 8/10 in MGW and weeks later, Maddison crocked for the very long term.

Couldn't make it up.

We've gone from talking about who will play is it Maddison or MGW and now we have neither.

Also annoying that apparently we were in for Xavi Simons earlier in the summer and ahead of the queue, and then we cooled off because we thought we had MGW in the bag. In the meantime Chelsea came in and now are favourites and now we are lagging behind.

Losing Simons to Chelsea and Eze to Woolwich is just fucking shit. We could do with either of them, they would walk into our team, but instead will go to our rivals to strengthen their bench so they have an abundance of options to rotate and we have literally nobody.

Deki is just too inconsistent for me. If that is our only hope this season, as our starting no 10, it's not good enough.
Maddison is patchy when he does play.

Spurs now have to make plans without him.

Tbh; it might be for the best.

I thought the defensive shape and the defending today were top class.

Pedro Porro has improved massively, in a defensive sense, in the short time Frank has had with him.

Archie Gray and Tel too.

Danso is proving to be a great signing and Vuskoic looks an able deputy if he is needed for the team.

Sonny's gone, Romero lost his self discipline and Maddison got injured.

Are we really surprised?

These were the 'leaders' who led Spurs to 17th.

Said this weeks ago. Makes sense. Even as a loan.

Doubt we are going to spring tens of millions on another 10, when we’ll eventually have Maddison and Kulu back at some point.

Just my opinion that we won’t, not that we shouldn’t, before the fucking pitchforks come out.
I think we need to start categorising Maddison in the Richarlison category unfortunately. Long term injuries every season he's been with us. We need to start planning without him and can never rely on him staying fit again.

Basically if he's fit then it's a bonus but we need to plan without him. Same as Richarlison. You just have to assume they'll be injured for most games, because if your expecting them to be available then your always going to fall short.

Yep. Frank will make us competitive, but he needs some magic up top.

Tel looks unable to score.
Johnson is the only reliable scorer out wide and he's totally anonymous in all other areas of the game.
Odobert not proven yet.
Kulu doesn't score enough, injured.
Kudus fine but also not a consistent goalscorer.

It's nowhere near good enough.

Tel and Richarlison missed 1v1's

Spurs should have scored at least one more goal in today's game and against Woolwich.

The players who have been letting Spurs down, through age, injury or lack of self control, all did the same things today.

We can't rely on these players.

Bissouma has looked better under Frank than either Conte or Ange.

I'm starting to think Spurs should keep him.
