I think Son's decline is overstated and I still think Odobert is better than him right now.
This has confused me. If Son hasn't declined then how can Odobert be better?
I think Son has been a shadow of himself since the 22/23 season. Got a 13 minute hat trick in Game 7. Then 7 more all season.
Doesn't really beat men, shoot from range, or do much at all these days other than bring in crowds of countrymen.

"Losing" Son now is nothing like losing say Berbatov, Carrick, Modric, Bale or Kane.

Son has declined, but less than people are saying.

I just really rate Odobert, he always catches the eye and I think he's going to wind up a nailed-on starter this season even if we purport to sign someone "ahead" of him (bar Rodrygo or something).

We’ve been pretty shit at recruiting from the PL because we don’t shop from the top shelf.

All our best signings except Bale were from outside the PL

Well that's load of garbage though...

Alderweireld. Wanyama. Trippier. Parker. Dembele. Friedel. Defoe.

Alderweireld could be potentially top 3 to top 5 signings of past 15 years. Dembele clearly in top 10.
We technically brought Toby from Atleti but right after he had finished exceptional season for Saints. So he was very much EPL proven.

There are some regarding whom the jury is still out - Solanke and Maddisson. Latter being on plus side, former so far (considering fee) on rather minus side.

Also by far our most pathetic flops have been from outside of EPL - Ndombele, Lo Celso, Soldado, Sanchez, Janssen, Gil, N'ije, Nkoudou.

So our recruitment have been absolute mixed bag buying both - from EPL and outside of EPL. Both have large share of flops. Both have absolute hits.

The past 60 years? Since 1965, it that what you're really saying?
Since the 1990's maybe (though that would disregard Pochettino), but the 1960's! :ange-blow:

You're either too young or your memory is not what it used to be! Otherwise you're just making things up.
That’s not true. Over the past 60 years we never finished top 6 even three seasons in a row until ENIC. We just haven’t been consistent contenders for the league.

And forget CL - we never qualified for that or the European cup.

So no - there’s no reason to think we’d be league or champions league challengers.

Ah, with you.
Son is, at best, a poacher these days.
He used to terrify teams with pace and ability to take on multiple people and score from range.
Now he mostly just frustrates us, his own fans.
I'm glad he's gone now, on a high, and not left past his best and just fully hindering the team or never even getting a game.

Romero, VDV and Davies are certainties to miss a number of games next season, it always happens. So it seems crazy not to keep Vusko in this squad

Unless we are bringing in another centre back :levysad:

Hard to believe tbh. Loaning out Vuskovic at this stage is unbelievably fucking stupid.

One injury to Romero or VDV and we’re down to Danso. Good player but who comes into rotate? Dragusin with the ACL or Ben Davies? Vuskovic needs to stay until at least January.

Much like Flattards and Angebois, the Levy apologists will find a way to make it acceptable.

There was once a public bible basher who said "if the bible said 2+2 was 5, I wouldn't question it, I would dedicate my life to proving it was right"

That's their logic. That's the lengths they go to.

And that is the only cult right?
People who see devil in every Levy decision, they are perfectly balanced, right ?

Got it!
