You’re right of course , no other clubs have signed any quality players this window . It’s impossible, we need to sack Frank and make Ethan Hunt our manager

Of course you can be bitter about it if you ignore that we've also singed quality this window.

There's a venn diagram of "players who will join spurs" and "players who are available" that won't match up to the "experts" on here who have got it very, very wrong over the years

I replied to The Extra Mile(sey) The Extra Mile(sey) about this.

We need a passer in midfield. Not interested in a dribbler. Yes a good midfielder is required.

“Top quality experienced” is not going to happen. Who was the last world class player we signed in tbeir prime? Isn’t that what you’re setting up? You’re a fool if you think that’s happening.

But a good midfielder who can pass the ball is needed.
A good midfielder who can pass the ball would pass my sniff test . Good is top quality to me , it’s why I never said elite

Not quite sure when we starting fawning over the daftest run club in the league.

Nor when we started lusting after a player that has bomb out of Barca and also PSG not once, but twice. Raiola may be dead but I'm sure the circus still carries on with his players.

"Daftest run club in the league" just won the club world cup, netting over 100 million in the process and spanking Europe's best team 3-0 in a final, having finished absolutely miles ahead of us in the league. They're now just acquiring more and more talent, but yes I'm so happy to be so WELL RAN!!!

Xavi Simons is 22 mate. Bombing out at some mega clubs at that age is hardly an indication of anything other than being very young at elite teams. He has been brilliant for a similar sized club to us in Leipzig - not sure why we wouldn't "lust" after that having finished 17th.

But yes, I'm sure the upcoming thrills of being 7th or 8th are very exciting. We won't break the bank or ruffle any feathers though, loads of stability and we can all say the revenue is coming along nicely and aren't we well run unlike those clubs who finish high and compete for the big stuff.

I of course agree with the spirit of this, but I am also absolutely not going to let the Trump Cup convince me they are somehow title contenders, I really don't believe they are.

It took the Boehly Devil Luck they keep getting to nick CL.

Only player I can see who might be available who can do that is Akliouche. He has it all. But Monaco quoted PSG €70m.

Otherwise Paqueta or El Khannous maybe ???

Like you say, MGW was perfect but it’s tough now.
Not really watched him but €70m is in the same region as what we were ready to pay for MGW, Capology has him on €22k/week which we could quadruple without blinking, Paqueta is one I like and apparently Potter doesn't fancy him (unsurprising given he is an anti-football terrorist to the 10th degree), El Khannous feels too much like a gamble and is he really much further on than Bergvall?

So much quality. So so much. Definitely not the absolute bare minimum of ambition shown on incredibly gettable players that we won't have to test the wage structure out at all on. We wouldn't want that!

The "Players who will join spurs" diagram would be instantly changed if we had owners willing to adapt a wage structure fitting for a club with our revenue who operate in the premier league and are happy to take risks. A club of similar size/revenue to us were happy to spend 100m+ and 250k+ a week plus on a tackly mid a couple of seasons back but we'll still have fans gaslighting us about what we can and can't do .. we don't fucking try, we've never tried.

I’m off to bed , but there was a time all pre ENIC when we could and did sign players . Even the loathed Sugar who took over the club in a far worse mess than ENIC signed Klinsman, a signing that towers over any and every Levy signing .

Edit : in fact he signed him twice , the last time to get us out of a relegation battle . Players will join Spurs , just not Spurs under ENIC

I don't think they're title contenders because the squad is too young and title contenders usually have some sort of senior spine .. I do think they will be better and could knock Woolwich down to 4th while winning something. Caicedo and Palmer are unreal footballers.

You can mock the "trump cup" all you like - it was played in a very competitive spirit, worth shit loads of cash and mattered. That final was a beatdown.

Chelsea aren't the most well ran but I'd rather have the owners who blindly stockpile talent than the ones scared shitless of having any.

Winning the Infantino Cup is part of the replacement 'super league' when most of the european teams are goosed at the end of a season. Those players will be suffering by December.
They are also offering out 8 year contracts.

Any idiot could take control of a club and do what they are doing. It doesn't fall under the definition of "well run".

The same question would be asked if we did sign Simons and he flopped here Ndombele style - "why did none of the big clubs want him?" - and Chelsea don't count in that regard because they're buying any old shite.

The idea that everyone still lauds over a 1-in-2 striker that screwed the club over after one season shows the reality of what that signing was and the circumstances around it.

Even more bonkers that you seem to hold him in higher esteem than Bale or Son

Yeah we’re scraping the barrel after those two.

Maybe they’ll pull something out the bag…

They won't suffer and who cares? I'll take Cole Palmer and Caicedo on an 8 year contract, thanks. The ones they don't want they'll flog to Saudi because they have contacts, we don't. ENIC are a footballing island. They have no friends or allies in this world.

Chelsea are buying very talented footballers. That's what they''re in the market for - talent. It doesn't need to be smart. It's better than cowardly which is what we are. Cowardly and meek in the market. A club happy to accept scraps under the table and be beneath the attention of the true elite now.

I don’t , but Bale , Son and Modric were not global superstars when we signed them . 3 players far more important to the club than Jurgen . However my point was relevant and yours is not I’m afraid

Anyway goodnight mate , cross swords again soon

12 days until the season starts and still have to play Davies at LB and it's looking like no #10. With everyday going by another option is taken off the table (Enzo Millot Today).

We urgently need these 2 signings.
