I mean, we’re not short of bodies. The squad is huge and we can’t sell. It’s the depth of quality of those bodies that’s the problem. This team is so short on players. What an absolutely shocking window from the club. Won a major trophy and then act poverty stricken. Zero ambition to kick on. Levy and ENIC have let Frank down. I guess the club are just happy with participation award in the CL cause this squad isn't anywhere solid enough for all 4 competitions this season.
Firstly, Cadena Ser, a radio station, is a very reliable source.
Secondly, €60 million is below the lower end of the price range that Marca reported yesterday that Madrid would be looking for, i.e. €70 million, with €80 million being the higher figure mentioned.
True. The inability to sell is truly baffling.I mean, we’re not short of bodies. The squad is huge and we can’t sell. It’s the depth of quality of those bodies that’s the problem.
If 2 fading players won't go, why would Rodrygo if we need to flip him quick?Son didn’t want to go there, he had plenty of offers. Richy too.
They are two quite particular characters. Most players are happy to get the money on offer. If 2 fading players won't go, why would Rodrygo if we need to flip him quick?
My point was there is something fishy about how the likes of Chelsea can almost always flip players there, for big money, but many other clubs cant.
I'd imagine our wage structure would be a stumbling block
He is very good. The other thing is even if he flops in the PL you can get your money back selling him to Saudi no problem.
It’s what happens if we keep buying mediocre players.I mean, we’re not short of bodies. The squad is huge and we can’t sell. It’s the depth of quality of those bodies that’s the problem.
I am feeling quite despondent at the moment
I’d bite your hand off for 9/10 or 11th
I just can’t see how one player and another manager can catapult us us the league
Liverpool selling Nunez for 53m Euros. Can't Saudi buy our shit at inflated prices?
Recruitment was appalling from summer 18-summer 22 and we’ve been paying for it ever since.I mean, we’re not short of bodies. The squad is huge and we can’t sell. It’s the depth of quality of those bodies that’s the problem.
Nunez is a lot better than RicharlisonLiverpool selling Nunez for 53m Euros. Can't Saudi buy our shit at inflated prices?
You would be surprised how many are very optimistic this seasonWhat the fuck?
No one can surely be that painfully stupid?
"catapult us in the league" like 17th place would have been a real indication of the squad quality.
In 23/24 we did finish on 5th place. Since then added players like Solanke (23/24 3rd top scorer in EPL), full time internationals like Danso and Dragusin. Plus young talents like Bergvall that was pretty much nailed starter in last season. Now also added very much EPL proven Kudus and Palhinha as well.
I mean seriously - I get being bit pessimistic. We all wanted more from the window.
But get some fucking grip with reality. There is zero chance that such team with even half-adequate manager could finish on 11th place.
It could only happen with ultimate braindead coward that is happy to rack up losses left and right!

It isn’t. We’ve been in decline/crisis for years, and nobody wants players who are seen to have played their part in that.
