Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I dont think we will at all. I've just got a little 3% chance in my head where;

*Kanes won his wanky plate already
*He's probably just at the limit of coming back and beating the premier league scoring record
*His massive house he's been building for years is finished
*We need a 10 and I always thought that's where he'd play in his twilight 'a la Rooney's

I'm 95% sure he's staying in Bayern.
Hilarious. He’ll most like come back to the PL after the WC - he’s got great stability at Bayern now, and next summer is his everything IMO. Not that England have a chance to win it in those conditions, but he’s never been the smartest.

After that he’ll probably come back to United or someone else. Not us.

Which is fine on the surface

But if that's the case , they should sell up , take what would be a very handsome profit and let someone else have a go who does have the wealth and willingness to push us on

Right now we are traveling in ever decreasing circles
I absolutely agree with this and the original post you’ve quoted.

Unlike others I’m not an absolute Levy / ENIC hater, I can see so many positives in what they’ve done with the club in their tenure here.

But they’ve built something that has so much potential due to the stadium, training facilities, London appeal, commercial value etc - and either don’t have the aptitude or (more likely) the finances to cash in on this winning lottery ticket they’ve built.

It’s time to shit or get off the pot but I don’t think either will happen. It feels to me that levy is consumed by the role and his involvement with the club - it’s an obsession. If he sold it and we went on to great things, rather than be proud of his role in that I think he’d feel bitter. I believe he wants to achieve here, but the game has changed, you have to have the finances to match up and he simply doesn’t.

Funnily enough when we signed Werner I was told he was different class to Brennan Johnson and Richarlison by excited Spurs fans.

Shiney new toy syndrome.
No. Grealish is a very skilful player. I honestly think him, JP and MK, plus keeping Romero, would make this a pretty good window.

When we get Madders (if?) and Kulu back, we'd be well stacked for creative players.

The team will have much more steel, and much more creativity

I think they would qualify yes. But since then son has left and maddison is buggered. Perhaps I could have phrased my thoughts better there.

Partner that with palhinha being a loan ehich saves on transfer fee, it seems very underwhelming.

In my mind I thought even with being sensible and sustainable we would easily be able to buy 3 x 60-70m players. Not young ones that need alot of work but finished articles.
What we needed first was to sign a new spine: GK, CB, CM, CF...elite players who've been there & done it for years at the top level. The likes of ter Stegen, Bastoni, Barella, Osimhen (or dare I say...Harry friggin Kane).

Second, you bring in solid PL operators at LB, DM and RW/LW. Palhinha on loan is fine, but where's our Antonee Robinson? Why Kudus instead of Bowen (I know, I know)?

Then yeah by all means feel free to add another project like Tel, a commercial tool like Takai...

The only person melting and being hysterical is you, clearly.

Manure finished 15th and didn't win anything and are showing the sort of intention and commitment we should be, with the season starting in under 2 weeks.

That's the main point.

It's embarrassing; like you.

Was I the one who randomly brought up ManU (a club with most pathetic transfer history in EPL in past 10 years) into Tottenham Hotspur transfer thread as something to admire and be afraid of. Or was it you ?

Yea, thought so.
Pathetic.

At least own up to it.

Balanced and good post.

No one sensible is asking Levy/ENIC to break the foundations, but give us a chance.

The potential of this club is probably beyond comprehension, but it needs to be competitive on the field, with the odd success here and there.

Blows out cheeks.

scared harry potter GIF

Just waiting for the nod to start melting.

3 out of 10 window and the clock is ticking

you've started to see fake spurs shirts being sold on the markets here in Spain and in football shirt stores in the US in the last decade. I think we're catching up on them

This is very true and I think explains some of Man U crazy spending this summer

Losing to us was a shock. Their brand is built on winning and their global fan base fully believe it because they were indoctrinated during the Ferguson era. They need to win or they will start losing fans globally very quickly

The other thing is if I'm Kane the only thing I'd care about now is being the all-time top scorer in the premier league and for England. Bayern aren't gonna win the champions league with that megamind headed nonce as their manager, who gives a fuck if he wins another Bundesliga. He's got the trophyless bollocks gone and so have we.

I'm at 3.5%

He's gonna cost £50-£60m to bring back.
Probably want 4-5 years.
Currently on aprox £400,000 a week at Bayern.
Best case, £50m fee on 4 years at the same wage will set us back £132,000,000
And he'll retire at the end of it so no recoup potential.

Partially; but what's already happened is that they would have already been gaining less new fans over the last 10 years......

The international glory hunters will have been jumping on the MC, CFC and recently LFC bandwagons instead.
