Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Surely Real would have told Paz agent already if they plan to bring him back in the case of another club coming in?

Real probably happy to take the money? They’ve been hawking Rodrygo out all summer as well
Yeah that may all be right, but the other thing you run into in these situations is a player's determination to play for Madrid.

As things stand I'm sure Paz sees himself at the Bernabeu in 26/27 and he's not unreasonable to think that.

Let's just end this here. Mbuemo is a vastly superior player to Solanke, let's not play pretend.

He might've put up huge numbers last year, but since he's been in the league, he's been very, very good. 3 years of consistent performances, with a gradually incline.

Solanke has been in England his whole career. He had one good goal scoring PL season. And offers vastly less than Mbuemo does. Sure, he can press, but that's his thing. I know I'd be much more confident of Mbuemo scoring when presented with a good opportunity than Solanke.

I doubt Mbuemo scores as much as he did last year, because that often happens when the Star player of a mediocre team goes to a very good team, with other very good players. But it's not going to be as significant a drop as we seen with Solanke.

You really can't compare the two. I know which is rather have.
Let's all be honest here, Mbeumo wears Brennan Johnson pyjamas when he goes to bed. Nobody with that hairline has been a good footballer for 35 years and it's not about to happen now. Come back when he single studdedly wins a European final.

Also he put up those numbers under Frank. Man knows how to get the most out of his attackers.

Spot on.

Let's be real here, we haven't even done the bare minimum this window which was to bring in 3 top players.

We have signed Kudus who has just come off the back of a poor season. We all know if Kudus had actually played well last season he'd be at Chelsea right now.

We signed Palinha on loan, he's a decent player who should hopefully do well, but it's not ambitious move from us by any stretch.

That's it. That's our window so far.

We've lost Son for good, and Maddison for a year. Failed to sign a top LW, failed to sign a top 10.

We are light at CB, when VDV misses 3 months of the season inevitably, we will have Danso (and nobody decent to rotate him with) and Davies filling in.

We have no back up to Udogie. Spence cannot cover both LB and RB on his own across four competitions. So Davies will have to fill in.

it's a shit show.

That isn't even talking about all the goals and assists we've lost from the team.

I do not know what fans expect, but my optimism for the season has vanished.

Simply put, who will create and score our goals? Tel and Odobert have absolutely no record to suggest they will score 6 goals between them across a league season. They might get 3 each.

Johnson is our best goal contributor and he shouldn't even be starting.

Solanke has struggled at times and can't seem to stay fit.

I just don't get how the club can be happy with the squad, a ridiculous amount of faith is being put on two really young kids in Odobert and Telvto perform consistenty, it's insane.

Whilst United have signed Cunha and Mbuemo will have a proven record in this league of delivering goals and assists. It's levels.
if this is the state of affairs at the end of the window, I'd agree

Unsustainable wins you the champions league twice, club world cup and winning the premier league 3 times. Just saying.

Got
Most top players won't go anywhere for mid table wages

And yet so called top players, by the mere fact that 8th to 14th is mid-table,provide what?

You really are just a one-trick,one-line of attack, and yet two, named (until we win something again) pony.

You just equate exorbdutire with success,so are Woolwich's way of doing things okay with you, even though they haven't won anything yet?

Would you be content if we were doing as they were doing? What exactly, and for once be precise, would soothe your mind to the extent where you might back the owners?

Pray tell.

Woolwich didn't buy a proper CF for 4 years and tried to fill the role with a more injured than Richarlison, Jesus and Kai Havertz.

Liverpool replaces Mane and Firmino with Diaz and Nunez -- who they have sold both of because they were not up to snuff and are replacing again.

United lol
Chelsea - they just buy loads of players, still have not, and are yet to buy a good forward 1 billion quid and 17 players later.

You have Spurs blinkers on.

Most clubs do good business sometimes and shit business sometimes, and any person with a modicum of common sense and impartiality can see that.

Before this window opened every single fucking person on here prioritised a RWF, DM and LB - two positions of which we have filled.

Fuckin state of this post lol.

United are way ahead of us now too. They addressed all of their problem areas in one summer, despite being in a difficult financial position. Realistically, we're 10th-8th.

Eh? All of their problem areas?

How did they address Onana who likes chucking the ball in his own net?

Have they addressed their old man Fc midfield as well?

What about some of the shocking defending at CB?

I know everyone wants to ramp up other clubs business and shit on ours, and don’t get me wrong ours has been absolutely clueless for a long time, but United have bought some good players and showed a bit of ambition, but they currently still have a LOT of issues.

Lmao of course it’s not.

You’re a fucking melt mate. Mbuemo got 27 goals and assists in the league for a defensive team. That’s more than Odobert, Tel, Solanke and Kudus combined.

Cunha got 21. And they aren’t just numbers these guys, they’re footballers. The things Cunha can do with a football - he creates, he runs at players, he makes stuff happen. Footballers.

Yeah the real worry for them will be fitting in all their new attackers. What a shame.

You are literally just a shill for the ownership on here. It’s pathetic. I don’t think United will be great next season nor do I admire the way they’re ran, but if we signed Sesko, Cunha and Mbuemo you’d be dickriding ENIC for about twelve windows in a row.

Making out loan to buys for 30 year olds nobody wants and Kudus off the back of a dreadful season is a tip top window is the height of fucking gaslightery nonsense. Get a grip of yourself.
Bravo. Some of its Copium but some it is actually footballing literacy. Fundamental missunderstanding of the elite game. United are basically doing what winning the Europa league should have seen from us. Sesko has far better technical attributes than Zirkzee and Hojland but given he is a risk. Embeumo and Cunhja are EPL tested certainties if you can pull down their numbers at those clubs that's going to yield results.

One problem area that they need to address, your right. Which they probably will if this summer so far is any indication.

They're trying to buy Baleba, so they're very much working on that one.

They had injuries to the defence last year, and got fairly solid over the last few weeks.

If you think we're in a better position than them, you're absolutely deluding yourself.

:eriksenserious:.....sigh

Sad Arrested Development GIF

With Maddison out for a season and likely to be on the way down after that - now is the time to go big on a 10. Spank the budget on it if we have to cos we can cope at LB and up top

I dont think Baleba happens, even the report itself says it’s unlikely and considered as such all round. It’s just been taken on here as 100% happening in numerous threads.

If they were to get Donnarumma as was rumoured then 100% I think they’ve made some great fixes.

I think k my concern for them as it were will be its great to buy a decent attack, but if there’s bigger all behind them it will be for nothing.

They have done part of what you say, they’ve reacted to last season, whereas we have very much sat still. We’re absolutely a mid table at best squad with the inaction of the board in the transfer window.

Though tbh, it wouldn’t surprise me if both us and United still found ourselves in the bottom half this season.

We signed Solanke off the back of a very similar career year for a very similar standing club.

It didn’t work out exactly as planned last year and now he needs to be replaced because he ain’t good enough according to some.

I will be shocked if Mbuemo hits the same numbers he did last season. Good player, but so is Solanke and it’s laughable to me that one is considered a Mickey Mouse signing now and the other is a club statement of intent.

Just explained to you why it wasn’t similar and was in fact very different.
