Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Every single youth talent going out on loan but Woolwich could potentially first team a 15 year old.
Our youth system is as broken as our transfers.

How would you fit "every single youth talent" into our squad?

They are going out on loan to be developed and gain some experience, something that they would never get by remaining at the club.

This is how young players of today improve, just like Walker, Kane, Rose and many others have whilst being out on loan.

Fill ya boots here, where at least seven or eight players per season were out on loan, some coming back some sold.

A proper chance in the Premier League ... let's look at that.

2020-21 he played 1 minute.
2021-22 he played 3 minutes.
2023-24 he played 19 minutes spread over 4 games.
2024-25 he played 30 minutes. He got half of those when we were already 4-1 up against Ipswich and playing out time. Otherwise he came on at the end of a defeat against Fulham and at the end when we were 2-0 up against Brentford.

Meanwhile he was scoring 11 goals in 11 games for England U20 and U21. Could it be, just maybe, that he's not the problem?

I’ve said numerous times he’s never had a proper chance. If you see my previous posts on him in this thread I’m telling him to move on because he won’t get one here.

Yeah but in recent years Saka, Nwaneri and Lewis Kelly have all made their way into the squad and first team aged 16 or 17

Moore and Donley could definitely have stayed with us this season especially considering how lacking we are in creativity and something different in attack.

I don't disagree with that idea, but I do think that squad space will be needed.

I just can't see us not adding at least two more players, optimistic thinking maybe, but realistically I think Frank, Lang and Paratici between them will add to the squad.

Somethings definitely changed over the last 18 months or so

They've always been a bit shit at recruitment and have generally given off the impression that football isn't at the top of their priorities list but it's gotten much worse lately

They just don't seem to give a fuck , not a single one

What the hell is going on?
And because it's a private ltd company, first and foremost, and a football club second, they can and will do what they want, as there's no shareholders to please except themselves. Unless the fans stop spending money on the club, nothing will change, as there is no reason for Levy to go out and spend a fortune trying to get into the CL, as we're already there, and perhaps he wants to sell the club this season, before he has to worry about not getting in the CL next season.

Ndombele: was in the France team and deserved to be in it, he had a brilliant season at Lyon. He just retired as soon as someone offered him money. He clearly didn’t like football, there was talk of him at burger places all the time when he was playing in Turkey. Just a tremendous waste of talent.

Lo Celso: very well suited to Poch, far less suited to Jose, Nuno, Conte.

Sessengnon: good player who turned into a complete crock when we bought him.

It was a combination of sacking Poch and terrible luck that turned our on paper best window into a total disaster. The lesson from this shouldn’t be don’t buy elite players, it’s do better scouting and don’t buy if you are thinking of sacking the manager and going in a totally different direction.
Ndombele's attitude problems were well-known, as were Lo Celso's. Sessegnon was injured at the time and there were doubts re his future health. Our in-house geniuses either didn't do their due diligence or they knew & decided to ignore it. Levy is as guilty as the rest of them, he's the boss and signs the cheque, gotta make sure no obvious steps were missed, gotta evaluate the risks vs rewards before he gives the final okay. Utterly embarrassing is what it was.

Fast forward 6 years and there's the MGW release clause debacle.

We need to cut the poor bloke loose to pursue his own career now. He doesn’t seem to have done enough here to get a proper chance. Never looks any worse than our other attackers when he comes on or plays, maybe there’s an issue in training because he doesn’t ever look that bad.

I'd start him over Richy any day of the week, and twice on Sunday's.

He, like Kane did, needs a run in the side.

Is it true we offered £35M for Nico Paz when his valuation is £60.5M??

Standard Levy "Oh we tried our hardest".

What to fucking insult clubs with offers you know they will never accept!!

He has no intention of signing anyone else. We will get a nobody on loan with an option to buy that will bring no value. The whole lot of them at the top of our club are oxygen thief's.

We didn't realise Real Madrid get 50% of any sale so his transfer market value just automatically doubled once that information became public. No chance we go for Paz now.

Levy prefers to wait until he is bidding against the clock ticking down, with a desperate club, or for a player that is desperate to leave.

Burnley and Bournemouth are the two home games before the window shuts.

Levy hoping we will have enough to see these games over the line before he indulges in his last minute bingo.

Absolutely technical

Undeniably tbh. I have no idea what you’ve been watching but find me another left back with the first touch and control to play between the lines like a 10.
Comical assessment!

Udogie is a strong ball carrier, but he’s not a technical player with anywhere near the same ability of a 10. Most of his forward plays involve charging down the line, shrugging off challenges before providing a cut back.

Provide some #concrete evidence!
