Craig Bellamy on his day was an absolute handful.
Friend of mine played against him twice, years apart. Still has nightmares about it to this day. Said it wasn't so much his pace or tekkers, but he's just at it from min 1 til 90+...proper pest, doesn't let you breathe, kicks and elbows the shit out of you whenever the ref ain't watching. And he doesn't stop talking trash...even after the final whistle.

Both games were friendlies.

Does anyone think we need a better quality, less nervous GK, like sooner rather than later? I'm sure our defence is affected by Vicario's erratic behaviour, great shot-stopper that he is.

I guess if you wrote down a list of priorities, a new GK is a but of a luxury right now.
A-FRIGGIN-MEN.

IIRC, Redknapp wanted to sign him

I really liked him as a player but he was a mouthy bastard

I don't hate Johnson at all, I actually really like him, hence why I said I'm happy to keep him. But I understand his role, and how precarious it is.

Comparing Johnson to Sesko is a ridiculous equivalency, they offer different things, in different positions. Again, like what club is going to pay £60m for him. None of the top 6 would, don't see Newcastle being that desperate. I guess Murphy is also a £60m player?

He does one thing very well, but the other parts of his game aren't good enough. A blind man can see that. £20m and him for GMW wouldn't be that outlandish, certainly not peanuts, and key player? If Savinho is indeed signed, he's going to be a rotation player, not a key player.

You must be joking. If we sign Savinho he will be a key player and start pretty much every important game.

That’s clearly the main reason he wants to come to us, as he has been told he can be the next big star at Spurs, replacing Sonny.

City fans making jibes that him wanting to come to Spurs shows he isn’t ever going to have elite mentality or be a top player. But I actually disagree - I love to see a player desperate to play and desperate to make the WC squad.

It worked well for Palmer, so let’s pray we see a similar outcome.

Just to be clear... people do realise we're not signing any exciting players before the window closes?

It will be some bench warmer from Colchester that spends the next ten years being loaned out before they evaporate and leave no trace on ever having been part of reality.

The silence is deafening with the Savinho story.....are we heading into MGW something is wrong territory
While I'd always guard myself against getting too invested because, y'know, usually we can't have nice things - I wouldn't read anything particularly negative into it going quiet.

The story only really broke last thing last night and we've had the more reliable journos backing it up. I think that as long as a fee is agreed promptly then it gets tied up fast. There's no way this hasn't materialised without the player/agent giving us all the right signals.

And City don't have a Marinakis who will block this out of spite.
