Personally I think its bad because Palace are within their rights to turn around and say he's our player and he's not for sale once the release clause is irrelevant. And I can't see Eze forcing the move, he's a professional and loves Palace.
But apparently we are not willing to pay the release clause anyway so maybe it is irrelevant. But it would be such a good bluff by Palace if they are just waiting for it to expire and then telling everyone he's not for sale. Would serve us right for not paying up tbh!

its pretty obvious that eze was contemplating staying until they found out the europa and they didnt want to sell until after the charity shield.
As expected neither deal is actually close and there’s no chance it gets done before the PL season starts. This is a failure on our part, to be clear.
