I think the deal is still on for Eze, just no fee agreed. Palace have every right to play him, and whilst they look for a replacement they’re probably stalling any official deal for him to leave.
I don’t always believe a deal when Romano reports it, but Ornstein and other reliable journalists have also said Palace are in for replacements due to Eze wanting Spurs. I imagine it’s done by midweek.

Slightly disagree. What if a couple of players got injured long term first few games. Have a couple of weeks to rectify it. Only couple of things I would have if a player has a bad knock, take him off pitch straight away. Get treated then a temporary sub comes on that might lead to perm substitute. Bit unfair 10 against 11 plus think sometimes a player goes down for no reason to take sting out of game. Seen o'leary do that for leeds when we played them. We were all over them.
We signed Malbranque injured too in the summer of 05 - he took about 6 weeks to play a game for us.
