"Clearly leaving" and "throwing toys out your pram"..same bullshit a couple of other random posters said about MGW when I said it not going to happen.

Yawn yawn yawn 🤣
I'm sick of coming on here and reading the same crybabies day after day. It's just football transfers they either happen or they don't stop stressing about it, you will live longer 🤣

I'm sure some of you would rather we didn't sign Eze and/or Savinho just so you can be right about Levy and continue to do very little but hate on him.

I'd rather be wrong about Levy, Spurs get good and I have something to look forward every week.
Yeah I would much rather that obviously, but fuck me how many times have we seen this movie before - we’ve had it once this window already.

I don’t fully blame Levy either, I think there is a perception out there with the sides not in the top 6 that were the most replaceable of the lot and they shouldn’t sell players to us. As such we seem to have bloody nightmares when we go for Prem players

I don't understand what Eze is staying for?

FA Cup winner will be as good as he can hope for now.
Same as Zaha - being a big fish in Palace's little pond is a cush gig.

Little pressure, as long as they stay up its job done.
Have a crack at the cups occasionally.

First name on the teamsheet, adored by supporters, coddled by ownership, basically impervious to management pressure.

Fairly settled PL status means they can pay a couple highest earners wages on par with the big clubs.

Live in London - low pressure club means more ability to actually enjoy living in London.

We all assume footballers rabidly want to win silverware. That's often not even on page 1 of their criteria.

lets say we sign him for 60, hes going to be on 180k a week say for 4 years, youre talking nearly 100m to have eze playing for you for four years, is he that good? hell be 31 in 4 years time ands will start declining fairly quick as he relies on being physically sharp.
Yes but at 30 can ask saudi clubs if theyre interested. They pay over the odds for players and get 600 if theyre lucky in their stadium.

You forgot death-threats for fat Greek blokes.

Most of the complaints about Levy should realistically be leveled at Lewis.

Levy is the face, but he doesn't control the financial environment he works within. And knowing that Lewis has fuck all interest in the football and isn't investing his own money would only make Levy more focused and maximizing every £ he can chisel away.

Perhaps.

I'd say Levy still has a remit/parameters he can work within...but I get you, it's a fair point.

Delaney update, for what (little) it’s worth:

“From speaking to people on various sides of the situation, The Independent understands the following: there was considerable progress over Friday and Saturday, where it looked like a deal could be struck for £55m plus add-ons. Sources even state that the idea of Eze not playing at Stamford Bridge was talked about. After the actual game, Glasner re-iterated that he was always going to play and that “as long as he’s a Palace player, he plays”.

That points to the caveat, of course, since it could well have been the case that he was almost out of the door by Sunday morning.

Instead, The Independent reported on Saturday evening that the negotiations had run into “difficulties”. There were claims that this was about Palace wanting more of the fee up front, so they could immediately commit to Eze’s putative replacement, Leicester City’s Bilal El Khannouss. Leicester themselves need the money coming in. Palace are meanwhile looking at Club Brugge’s Christos Tzolis.

There is naturally a lot of brinkmanship to this, as well as a chain of purchases and sales that almost resembles the property market.

While there are still obstacles, Spurs are understood to right now have a clear run.

Talks with Spurs, and Spurs alone, are consequently expected to continue. For now, Glasner of course insisted that Eze will play in Palace’s Europa Conference League play-off qualifier against Fredrikstad on Thursday, having been demoted from the Europa League after Monday’s CAS case.”
Sounds as if we basically came to an agreement but Palace are stalling as they need time to negotiate replacements.
