probably not, but you can see why no ones triggered the release clause now cant ya. theres better value out there.
Yes and no! Eze is within our "budget", I'd say the best within our budget, coz we need a number 10 and this boy is class, agree not world class, but class that will hit the ground running. For me him and Savinho are the 2 missing pieces that could change our season from pretty good to exceptional.

Rumours that United are considering a bid for Wharton. If there's any truth to that, could the Eze deal be under threat? Can't see Palace wanting to lose both Eze and Wharton this summer; and if they had to chose which one of the two to release, you'd imagine it would be Wharton given the likely fee.

Edit

For the 6 remit I'm going to add in Lucien Agoume as a "young" option.

6/8/DP
Baleba / Stiller / Bischof /MGW / Andre / Bouaddi / Lemine Camara / Agoume

Mintheh/ Mitoma / Eze / Cherki/Akliouche/Semenyo/Ekitike/Mikautadze/Sancho/Fofana (Lyon)/Simons/Nunez

LB
Ait-Nouri/Robinson,

CB
Tapsoba

Update. Players added and crossed off

If Palace and City are playing silly buggers (or we are), there's still some getable good options out there.

Unlikely that we will be interested now, but I'm amazed nobody has sniffed around Minteh. But if we were interested in Savinho, don't see why we shouldn't be interested in Minteh. This kid is good 1v1, works his nuts off without the ball, his XA/XG isn't Savinho level, but he's only 20, loads of scope. Nobody's pulled the trigger of Fofana (right footed, inverted left forward) who could cover that outgoing Son remit. El Khannouss, the guy Palace will replace Eze with is well worth a punt at 22m release (even if we get Eze - although Palace may want us to leave that one alone if we do). Shit comes to shove, Sancho on a loan/option for that Inverted right attacker remit wouldn't be the end of the world.

We could even go balls out for Simons, who could actually fill both the ACM, ALM, LF, FWD and 8 remits in one player.

I'm adding Hincapie, we've been linked, has the qualities we need (Left sided CB who can also play LB and can play back 4 and back 3/5). Like.

Can Hincapie cover LB?

One consideration is, and I'm racking my brain here.....how many world class players were considered to be world class before going to their first 'big' club?
Eze shines in a team that despite recent success, really is a mid table side. So put him in and around higher quality players and you'd see an improvement.
If, and it's a big if, we saw Eze, Kudus, Savinho and an in form Richie doing wild things in the CL, then you'd certainly expect his stock to rise.

I don't doubt for a second that they'd rather sell Wharton than Eze, but that's besides the point...when they're a selling club.

Palace can't sell Olise last year, Wharton at 21 years old after 18 months at the club, and (quite possibly) Guehi...while rejecting big bids for Eze at 27 years old.

I mean unless they want their main man and star player, by a wide margin, being unhappy and wanting to be anywhere else.

Tottenham are considering a move for 24-year-old Real Sociedad and Japan winger Takefusa Kubo as Thomas Frank looks to bolster his attacking options.

As it's is I think anything is possible, most of it on the negative side.

The fact that Eze played v Cheatski makes me think this deal is not as close as many think. The Eze and Savinho deals smell like typical Levy low balling to me. Just pay the money baldy
