It happens alot with Spurs. Neto, Willian, Petit, Eze, Hazard, Diaz to name a few. Its not coincidence. They try get players on cheap deals and leave room for other clubs gazump them.

I've heard both of those sets of fans constantly complaining about their clubs doing nothing.
It was supposed to be both though. Now it's an either or. Doesn't take much to keep some of you happy.Think 68mil could be better spent on a proper 10 which is what I'm hoping will happen. Not sure who but think if we bid that for kang in lee we'd get him and he's better than eze imo. eze blows hot and cold and is more comfortable om the lw. squeezing him into the 10 role wouldnt have done us any favours. he'll play on the left from Woolwich and seems to be a fan of them so once they matched our bid he was always going there. should have realised this ages ago and looked elsewhere instead of making ourselves look stupid.
Turns out random people on the internet aren't being briefed every 5 minutes about a multi million pound negotiation.Backed
Sick of seeing these lying bloggers posted all over the shop
You and your squad are probably loving this. Insufferable, all 5 of you. You're happy with keeping our head above water, that's on you. Don't insult people who want to see what's promised come our way.Or...
Don't cry, whine, whinger, stress, get excited about things that are unconfirmed.
They had no realistic intention of buying him until Havertz got injured.they've being trying to sign him for ages - we done the deal and they've come in and one upped whatever was agreed. That's the privilege of being the bigger draw- same with Neto & Chelsea last summer (and Gray & Brentford in our favour)
We were definitely second choice and we’ve been used to flush out Woolwich.
Think they've spent nearly 200m already and after another player.
Not sure we can scoff tbh.
And more fool Eze, who should wonder why they did not see him as necessary before the Havertz injury.
Hope he sounds a lot of time on the bench, playing second fiddle to whoever.
Bollox. They were dithering over a couple of million in installments, as is always the case. There was always a chance that Woolwich could come in, and if Levy had got his finger out a week ago, he'd be here by now.I think the biggest mistake might've been not pulling out of the deal beforehand.
It looks like they wanted it to drag in case Woolwich decided to swoop in.
Should've cut and pursued other targets instead. Now we have a weaker hand in negotiations.
Next time please remember.Rule number one of a Tottenham transfer saga.
ALWAYS ASSUME THE WORST OUTCOME

And rule number two...and it will still be worse than you thought.Next time please remember.Rule number one of a Tottenham transfer saga.
