Thats what he wants us to think now so he can surprise us with a deadline move for Tyler Dibling!

The key was to keep our hopes up all summer but then completely crash them a week before the deadline. And then sign the cheap young english player on the deadline day and somehow fool half the fanbase into thinking he's a good signing.

Eze will go to Woollich & be competing with several players for his place , he’d have walked straight into our starting XI but we faffed about.

They got an injury & acted immediately, we procrastinated

That’s our level of urgency

It's not just natural inflation of fees at play, we've left it (AGAIN!) until we are absolutely desperate to fill these positions, and now after two humiliating debacles in little over a month, the whole world knows we've been willing to spend £60m+ to fill them.

Define Lo Celso flop and Bryan Gil flop for me so I can take a stab at answering the question... realistically, I see him being a Chadli/Lamela type player... not awful but not world beaters... but right now, we need so much more than that.

That would require some form of a serviceable scouting set-up and history suggests we have fuck all in that area of capability.

What we have to do is to imagine that we never were interested in Eze, he was nowhere on our radar. In that scenario and we bid £50million for Akliouche then we would probably be pretty pleased. Thats how we must now look at it.
 
We should just go and get who we can get at this stage. The board fucked the window yet again and there's only around 10 days left in the window. At the end of the day the squad is ridiculously short and needs some fucking kind of reinforcements, even if they're just bodies for rotation. If that's Dibling and El-Khanouss then just go and fucking get them. Don't waste anymore time pretending that your capable of deals on big players like Savinho, Rogers, Rodrygo or whoever the fuck else might pop up. Let's face the reality that we finished 17th last season because we had a shit squad and that needs some (any!) kind of improvment.
