Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Our level is because of our ownership.

We are a London club with all the building blocks to be hugely attractive. I genuinely believe this. People call me a gooner etc but the reality is that I can see a club which has potential to be so much more than it it is actually trying to be and that is why I get frustrated, especially when people big up some of the average we have as elite.

Ambitious ownership would absolutely cook here. The room with PSR, the attraction of London, the stadium already in place for the future .. the one thing I will credit the ownership with is they have built a good platform for OTHER owners to take over and deliver actual on the pitch success. The foundations are all there - they just won't pass the mantle on.
Its crazy as you have clubs like Newcastle & Villa wanting to spend because they can't and you have our owners being able to spend but they won't , for all the stick Levy gets he has actually given us the foundations as a club to be able to compete with the rest of the top 4, unfortunately our business model doesn't allow it though.
Not saying I want Saudi Owners, however if we had owners like Newcastle we would be competing for titles every season......

Probably ... no link really matters currently, the media have gone in to overdrive on us since missing out on Eze because they assume we're gonna scatter gun .. that and they like winding up Spurs fans.

I think we'll go back in for Savinho again and submit a bid which is big but not quite big enough and then Levy can say we really tried and we offered a record fee.
Think Savinho will get done. Levy needs to save face and so will push the bid up towards 70m with add ons. It's a big bid for someone surplus to requirements at City. The player wants to play.

The spanner in the works might be Rodrygo though.

The transfer fee was agreed, Woolwich matched it for a player who used to play for them and wanted to join them rather than us.

The money both transfer fee and wages for the player was accepted by both parties.

Shit happens.

We move on.

If we knew the player was totally set on Woolwich then we should have never gone in for him in the first place and wasted our time/embarrassed ourselves all over the media in this way. Now we're sat holding our dick in our hand and scrambling for other back up targets.

Can you not see how badly planned this window has been from us ??? It's awful. We look stupid and have been mugged off in front of everyone. It should've been a case of stumping up the fee for Eze, immediately saying to him he has to join now and we won't be holding up waiting for you to join Woolwich, and then if he did that walking away.

Amazing how Eze didn't play in Europe when he was joining them...

Erm yeah ... of course, but it would be nice if we could actually identify those players, and those players were of genuine quality.

Eze knocks us back at the start of the window .. fine, who cares. Eze knocks us back with a couple of weeks to go with teams scrabbling about and not wanting to lose key players now, not good. Now we need to find someone equally as good if not better.

Im still a long way behind the latest bullshit.

But if I had to choose from the options available for rhe 10 it would be paz.

Paz > akliouche.

Rogers and simons pipe dream. Then again any decent player seems to be a pipe dream. Im not sure akliouche will be a big success in the pl and hes 23 and I just dont see a player with a very high ceiling.

Paz is a freestyle 10, can do it all and is showing it in seria a. He clearly has a high ceiling to me.

Paz and savinho would recover the window somewhat. We're not going to compete for anything serious in the near future so id target these players to build for a couple of years time. Both hugely talented.

Saying that these useless twats will probably take the easy option of BEK. Hes one i could see us trying to shift in a year or 2, hes out his depth for what we need imo.
If it's that Bilal kid, of course there's a substantial part of me who'd love it if he tore the PL a new one.

But at the same time, Levy really reeeeeeeaaaaaaaallllllly does NOT deserve to get lucky & strike gold.

I agree, and its shocking it took us so long to get a replacement for the MGW knock back, shocking amateur behaviour by us
