But I think they ultimately will want to sell Rodrygo as he’s their third choice LW, and this summer they can get the most value for him. Another year of sitting on the bench will bring down his value.Just thought about the downside of buying Paz, from a Madrid aspect.
They get half of any Nico Paz fee paid, in their clause with Como. So £60m means £30m to Madrid, provided they don’t exercise their buyback clause.
But think about the Savinho deal - that is rumored to be dependent on a Rodrygo sale from City to Madrid, right? If we suddenly hand Madrid £30m for Paz, that puts them in a situation where they don’t have to sell Rodrygo as much and can hold out for more… which puts the Savinho move at risk.
I’m seeing an awkward game of musical chairs playing out here and it’s not likely to work in our favour.
A much bigger problem is that City hierarchy may just rate Savinho too highly.
