We could have also played him alongside another more attacking MF against the bus-parkers and would have been lethal.

He would have been the perfect signing for us as a 8/10 hybrid.
Just bringing in BEK as our main number 10 would be pathetic and will mean we've failed to land all of our top targets for that position this summer.

bus-conductor Bakwa or Savinho? I honestly think I could argue for Bakwa.
It’s a non starter as Strabourg are BlueCo and would never sell to us, but Bakwa is a powerhouse.
If BEK was the player he's billed as, Leicester would have produced more last season.
I'd take him if he was one of TWO #10s we signed... Prob we have is there doesn't seem to be an obvious senior, ready-baked CAM on our radar.
I was thinking why would Rodgers come here, but he’s not on a big salary at the moment and I don’t think Villa have got space to increase it all that much. He probably feels undervalued there. Think it’s possible. The hard thing is agreeing a fee. If we turned his head with a good offer, maybe he would ask to leave. Long shot but you wouldn’t rule it out completely

I just don’t really trust us to do the Paz or Akliouche deals at all at this point, and think that a 10 is a non-negotiable necessity. And if we are actually to buy Savinho, surely there’s no way we allocate £60m towards Akliouche or Paz as well, right? It’s extremely difficult to see two of those huge deals coming off before window’s end. He's actually not a bad shout at this point. I'm not always too impressed with his decision making. Technically and physically he's a good place and still only 21. Already got a full season of English top flight football under his belt - I don't hate it
Because he's realised they won by cheating.City's problem is that the fire in Pep's belly looks to be gone.

Not buying the story that we are chasing 2 AMs.
It will be one at most
I'm not asking for miracles, I'm asking for something more than the most toothless attack the division has ever seen.Tough ask to expect a 20 y/o to creatively carry a crumbling EPL team through 2 dud managers and a relegation battle.
Messi would have made a differenceEven though a lot of people like to call our crop Champo level, just go back and look at some of their line-ups in the Premier League. Messi wouldn't have made a difference

He’s perfect for a game playing on the counter, he’s rapid so a threat on the shoulder, but also pops up with clinical finishesJohnson gets some pelters in here considering the amount of goals he contributes. He made some cracking runs today, playing off the shoulder, but the balls never came on time and hence he was caught offside. I am not his biggest fan, but already see significant improvement in work rate and general play on last season. He got tired at the end and was rightly subbed.
Cannot start every game, hence the need for a Savinho type, but a great player to have, can play either side and scores for fun, despite how frustrating he can be at times.
Man City on paper have a stronger team than Liverpool or Woolwich IMO but they are screwed if Pep’s fire in the belly is no longer there. Pep is an emotional guy if he has checked out they are going to just go through the motions.
