Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

A name I've heard in the past but not so much this summer is Julian Brandt at Dortmund. Only has a year left on his deal I believe.

Anyone seen him play enough to think he could be worth a punt? Comes across as a realistic signing who could help strengthen our attack.
He is often invisible on the pitch, but is always capable of a cracking strike outta nowhere.
Would be a good addition especially in our current situation.

Personally I feel like VDV’s issues have been down to Ange going “Oh you’re really fast, you can be our whole defence right? Everytime they’re in behind, just sprint back, we’ll be fine.” I think he’s safer in Frank’s system(s).

Re: Davies; obviously he’s not up to it, which i said in the original post, but with Danso, Dragusin and Vuskovic (if he doesn’t go on loan) as CB depth and Spence/Udogie battling for LB how much will Davies really play?

Everyone knows our squad depth needs improvement, but I just don’t see ENIC spending £55m/€60m (which would be one of our highest transfer fees ever) on someone who likely won’t start.
Davies should be binned give his spot to a youngster.

When the Strand Larsens of this world are going for north 50m then the game is seriously spiralling out if control. No disrespect to him. Hes a solid player and he did score 14 last season but hes not prolific. 50m seems to be the new 10m... we got an absolute bargain with Kudus.

''Former Premier League chief Mick Brown, who ‘remains very well-connected within the game’, claims Savinho’s ‘agent has arrived’ as the player is ‘keen’ to join Spurs, ‘which is slightly surprising’.

Despite, Savinho could be ‘blocked’ from joining Spurs as Man City ‘would rather not deal with Daniel Levy’.''

The rise of social media has created a division between two types.

On one side, there are the sensible supporters who will speak with each other, try to listen and learn, seek information to support their arguments, and aren't afraid of knowledge. They've always been around. And they're by no means uncritical.

Then there are those who inhabit the hysterical, attention-seeking, shouty, screamy, sweary parts of social media. They want to inhabit echo chambers in which information and knowledge are irrelevant except when it confirms prejudice. They don't want to appreciate what true criticism means.

From what I've seen, the THST falls into the first category, while Change for Tottenham straddles both categories. I like CfT's activism, but, sadly, social media hysteria seems to be excluding the more knowledgeable members.

I believe good activism should arm itself with reliable information and knowledge, and it must be prepared to be self-critical. There's too little of this in the protests and I wish there was more.

Case example: the failed bid for Eze. A sifting of facts see this as Parish shenanigans plus the wishes of the player. We could have reacted with dignity, say that we tried our best (not a "narrative" but a fact), and then we move on.

Instead a vocal minority of the fans on all kinds of social media, X, TikTok, FB, etc., screamed blue murder, betrayal, catastrophe, abject failure, etc. Those inclined to do so followed a crazy-paved path of least resistance and incorporated into their "narrative" that this was ALL Levy's fault, sometimes straying into conspiratorial rabbit holes where he somehow did all this deliberately... Insanity.

Now, here's the thing. Gooners are laughing at us more because of the hysterical over-reaction. Those who are shocked, deeply shamed and humiliated have *done it to themselves*... We fell into a trap fashioned by ourselves...

This actually has the effect of *inhibiting* genuine criticism of Levy/ENIC...
Levy lover or are you Levy????

We should just go for it with a huge offer for MGW, he’s 5x the player Paz is and exactly what we need.

A £70 million bid would get the fat Greek interested.
Absolutely we should. Still feel this is do-able if we’re willing to spend the money. They’ve brought in 2 10’s, 2 wingers and a striker in this window for decent money, they might be more receptive to a bid now they have his potential replacement in and have spent a bit.

MGW is the perfect 10 for Frank.

Alot of that is old news.

Savinhos agent is still in the UK though so its not over yet. He posted a picture of his daughter online saying he misses her so he's still in the UK.

New contract or doing the deal.

Im holding out strong on this one.

Went to the local shop half time in the Newcastle v Liverpool game queue was horrendous , i only wanted a pint of milk took forever to get served . Mind you has been said many times , it’s not like doing a transfer of a premier league footballer .
