If we were going to bid £80m for Rogers, we’d have done it by now.

Same story for Savinho. If we were doing that, it would be done by now.

Has we slapped £80 million down on the table at the start of the window Villa might have accepted it, so it makes perfect sense for us to do it now as there is little to no chance it gets accepted this late, we are just moving into the "we tried" part of the window, so it won't be long now before we end up with a panic buy

Living a mile from villa park believe me Vills fans will go into a total melt down if Roger’s is sold - biggest fear amongst villa fans is the feeling that emery has lost the dressing room

Hard to tell right now

Don’t matter how good they look at 16/17, it matters how good they are at 22/23.

Kane was the best academy product that played for their club in the last 20 years and nobody rated him that high at 16.

Btw that Reo Nghoma isn’t a Liverpool academy prospect, he’s a transfer recruit from Chelsea

Yes..
Son was well and truly over the hill, whereas Savinho is 100% on the way up.
He can, and probably will be a better player than peak Son.

We need to move on to other targets in that case.

We can’t just keep waiting about for other teams and players to make their minds up and let them string us along for weeks. This won’t end well.

You tell the player and his agent that they need to go to City TODAY, and create a big stink about wanting to leave, if not, we move on to other targets. We’ll see how badly he wants to leave after being left out the Brazil squad.
 
I wonder if its reached a bit of an impasse as Frank has said he doesnt want anyone that doesnt improve us, a bit like the Poch 2018 non window. The board just dont seem capable or willing of delivering on these sorts of players.

It will be interesting to see if Frank buckles last few days and just accepts any old tat for squad padding. I hope not. The powers that be need to up their game or get a huge amount of well justified shit thrown their way and dont want that nullified by chucking an El Kannouss, Garnacho,Harvey Elliott or worse at him.

Only I can’t see who we get as a panic buy

I was relieved to hear Frank say we only want to sign players who will improve the squad. Thats his way of saying he’s not willing to work with the Elliot’s and BEKs that might get thrown his way when Levy can’t do the deals for the top targets.

Essentially we are already at the latter stage Poch vibes where he was asking for players Levy couldn’t sign.
