Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yeah time is running out so we are basically down to:

A) Sign nobody
B) Sign more squad fillers

This is not backing the manager

Not quite true.

As mentioned earlier today, it might also be the club saying we can give you this or that player, which adds numbers, so backing Frank, but also thar we can't get you the objectively better players than you have, and which you are only interested in, so we won't get anyone, which is also backing the manager.

I think it's nuanced, whereas you look at Woolwich (through your fingers), and they are arguably buying players who are no better than what they have in their first team, but who are better than those they released.

Both clubs are in different phases.

It’s middle of the summer during a beautiful UK heatwave.

No sooner has the Kudus ‘Here We Go’ been digested, out of the blue, a Gibbs-White ‘Here We Go’ quickly follows! What’s happening? Where has this apparent ambition stemmed from?

Further news breaks the next morning. £300m investment has been made - we’re just getting started and Wharton is next. GB News says so, no less!

The possibilities throughout the rest of the summer are endless. Are we back? Could we actually contend?

And then bang. The suns gone. It’s all of a sudden September next week - the £300m has vanished just as quickly as it arrived, although we did get a loan deal done.

Eze, seemed easy, but it was anything but, and Paz seemed plausible, but he passed.

What a weird summer. We’ve had some shockers, but this one is on a whole category by itself!
It was all smoke and mirrors... Levy trying to convince us he had changed but we will be spoon fed a load of bollocks about how the market is difficult and unsustainable levels of spend by our rivals... we are playing a long game hoping they will implode but lets face it, he's been saying that for over 10 years and here we are... Chavs are spending 300m a year, now Woolwich are and even Man U without Europe are dropping 200m. Bin dippers about to spend 130m on one player after spending 110m on one player. Even fucking promoted teams are showing more ambition than we are. Levy has beat us within an inch of our lives. We don't have any fight left. Protests are like water off a ducks back. He doesn't give a fuck so long as the asset increases in value. He's basically killed the club and desecrated on the body for good measure.

Tel needs selling, haven't seen anything that makes me think he was worth buying.

Odobert may end up a decent PL winger but we want more than decent, no?

Yeah, big mistake loaning out the young players like Donkey and Moore if we aren't going to bring any new players.

Loaning Donley out was a bad move.
Moore was a good thing.... He's not ready.

Selling Tel in the same window we bought him is a ridiculous notion.... Not happening. Nor should it.

And it’s not just that. Levy’s handling of this window has been beyond incompetent. The guy still thinks “deals” exist in football like it’s 2010. If we hadn’t spent weeks messing around with the Gibbs-White and Eze situations, we could’ve either got them or moved on quickly. Instead, we wasted over a month dithering. That alone should be a sackable offence.

Now we’re left scraping the bottom of the barrel because Levy refuses to pay market value. City would sell Savinho if we upped the bid—even without a replacement. They did the same with Alvarez last year.

On the contrary; I think Alvarez & Palmer are the reason that they would think twice

Yep ridiculous move.

I wonder if there would be penalties to breaking the contract and bringing him back?

Probably not an option as we’d lose credibility when setting up future loans, but it’s looking very poor planning considering where we are now.

"We cannot spend what we do not have "

Remember this from a few months ago

Daniel Levy: Tottenham transfer spending must be 'smart' and 'sustainable'

He even acknowlegded we're the 9th richest club in the world before uttering it, the absolute cunt.

So, how come our biggest rivals with almost identical revenue streams are spending what "they don't have" on both transfer fees and player wages?

Con Artist, Thief, Blagger, Cunt.

Why do some of our fans still back him?

Chelsea have offered €50M for Fermin Lopez from Barca. If this club had any common sense and ambition, it would rival Chavs for either Fermin or Xavi Simmons. But of course it fucking won't, because we're too busy trying to hijack El Goddamn Khannous from Crystal Palace...

That filthy club never ever stop. It's utterly staggering. Sickening.

No point matching their bids. Players already have told them yes, but agree a price with my club. That club isn't us.

It's as though we are looking at players in different planets, but back to my point above.

Can’t face going through every post on this thread, but any recent mentions for Kolo Muani?

He was mentioned heavily last summer, but went to Juventus. With Vlahovic still being there and David being a recent signing, doubt he’s got a place back there and unlikely he can stay at PSG.

Last minute opportunity loan with an option?

Nope......
