Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We could have easily had s 300m window like the other top 6 clubs but we dropped the ball. Levy failed to close out the big deals and Lange hasn't progressed any back up plans. It was a circus. Pure imcompency all Summer.

Amazed that anyone on here isn't pissed off with how this window went!
It's not over yet!!

Its Gonna Be Okay Joe Biden GIF by The Democrats

I understand it plenty, thank you. He has a goal in 1 in 4 PL games.

BJ scored lots of goals from crosses, but this guy can't get ever get into position, and when he does, he tends to miss. Infact, he underperformed his XG by 3.42, so there's proof of that.

Context is that he had one anomaly of a season, we were backed into a corner and overspent on a very average striker. Look down the league from 1st down last season and he gets into Everton as a starting striker at 13th position. That's quality that mate.

What sort of metrics are you going to come back with, or is more of the same hyperbole that you usually come out with.

You don't fool me like you do others here. You're not as smart as you think you are, you move goal posts every time, change topics, give ifs and buts. You say he was in a 'broken' system last year. We scored 5 less goals than the winners, so putting the ball in the net wasn't an issue and he had plenty of chances to score. Your revisionism changes nothing.

I gave you a metric of his output last season which you chose to dismiss and then made up some nonsense about BJ getting on the end of crosses ignoring how often Solanke was used to draw defenders deep or to the near post with him giving space for BJ to work in.

You do you brother, im going to back the players who are here!

That's because I phrased it unclearly.

"We" isn't the fans, "we" is Spurs.

The club hierarchy did not imagine Tel as an unused substitute when that purchase was finalized, both Lange and Ange had sold him as an immediate regular contributor, which he was as a loanee last season.

They thought he was a player Frank, or any manager, would be eager to use. That was incorrect.

Well our new flawless genius who will never disappoint us is setting up the team without Solanke in it, so......

He may not have had Solanke been injured

Was looking at bluemoon to see if there's any update on Savinho from their side and found this post
"Hopefully we dont mess it up haggling over 5M. Seriously we're the new Tottenham with transfers, I get the need for sensible transfers but let's not be complete tight asses. We're now short on left and right back options because we can't find someone for $25 so let's get a f*cking keeper."

Fucking hell, the utter delusion is incredible. City complaining that they are tight - unreal

A few days left, highly doubtful much if anything will get done.
I think this window is done, the teams good start will convince some on the board that the squad is fine.

15 goals for a 65 million striker would be an absolute disaster!

And he scored 16 last season!
Consistency is the key , also i said 15+ not 15 , regardless if he can chip in again with 15+ goals this season then what does it really matter?
I'd much rather overpay for someone who can constantly contribute, than end up in a Jansen type situation again.

Also having a manager that will play to his strengths will do him wonders.

Semenyo lol

We are windmilling if that's true

We done the exact same thing in January, dicked about until the last week of the window (even though we were in a full blown injury crisis) got knocked back by our two main targets, Kolo Muani and Tomori, put in a £70m bid for Guehi which we knew would get rejected, then got knocked back initially by Tel. Lange started crying cause he knew he didn’t have any other options, and we had to beg Tel to join us and paid Bayern an exorbitant loan fee for a 6 month loan, which Levy would never normally sanction

We are an absolute shambles behind the scenes when it comes to transfer dealings. No planning or structure, just wait and see what opportunities come up. And when we miss those opportunities getting gazumped by other clubs or pissing about trying to haggle with clubs until they get sick of dealing with us, we go into full blown panic mode and start offering silly money for our third choice targets.

Levy must think he is doing a good job or he would remove himself from the football side of things , I can add massively conceited to his character traits I don’t like
This talk that regularly does the rounds about should Levy be removed from the football side of things has always been a load of guff in my opinion. It's why I've never subscribed to it or endorsed it either way.

So long as he's CEO / Chairman / Co Owner he's involved. Every decision ultimately comes back to him because either he makes them personally or he employs those that do

Levy doesn't need to be removed from 'the football side of things '...he needs to be removed.

Another deflection. Good talk bud.

Keep on keepin on.

Deflecting what??

1 in 4 games doesnt tell the story at all - you know it doesnt - you have to look at minutes on the pitch - and if you want, you can compare his XG and XGA to others in the prem too to give a picture of who is creating more and having the better chances....

Non pen XGA per 90 last season - 0.54 - Cunha was 0.57, Watkins 0.59, Johnson 0.52, Joao Pedro 0.46.
XG per 90, he was 14th in the entire league with 0.45 -
