Oh I believe it. I don't blame Romano for this summer.
It is a depressing update though. We are going down dead ends.

Loan with option to buy? Would we pay him £200k/week?This guy knows the name of the Leipzig chairman or whoever he is - sounds legit.
Thanks for the info, perhaps we should start a welcome thread.

I wonder if Lange tried to save the day and cried, begging him on his hands and knees to join us?
Sure, not enough to win the league, or anything else, come to that. But to improve on a dismal league season, it is. Makes us stronger than we were, so not a complete failure.
If this is a plan, I do get it. Big risk to spend hundreds of millions on backing a new manager, until you can see what he’s capable of over a run of at least a few months. I’m not suggesting it is a plan, by the way, it’s as likely that it isn’t and just been a fuckup instead.
You’re not forced to read my opinion or reply to it. Don’t bother next time and I’ll try my best to not lose sleep. Twat. This is really, really poor from you.
Failing to replace Maddison is catastrophic organizational malpractice and you perfectly well know it. Spare us your preening over a performance of seeming reasonable and above it all.
I'll only accept this "plan" if big money is spent next summer, but we know it won't be.Sure, not enough to win the league, or anything else, come to that. But to improve on a dismal league season, it is. Makes us stronger than we were, so not a complete failure.

It’s the football equivalent of “I didn’t fancy her anyway…..”.If Chelsea sources start tweeting about how they were never serious about Simons and only made a basic enquiry at the start of summer, maybe then we can start to believe there is a 1% chance it could happen.
Hence my saying, very clearly, that it’s as likely to be a fuckup as a plan. What’s the point in hiring a proven PL manager then not backing him? He gave a top level novice like Ange far more backing than Frank despite him having zero record in a serious league. What he’s doing is an insult to Frank as well as the fans.
I actually almost wrote similar. In that I’d be fine waiting for us to really go for it in the next window. But I’ve fallen through that trap door often enough to not repeat my mistake.I'll only accept this "plan" if big money is spent next summer, but we know it won't be.
I don't know how much stronger we are by the way. Son is gone, Madders is done for the season, Kulu is done until December. Our depth is still poor.
In isolation makes us stronger but we have lost Son, Maddison and Kulu. That context can't be ignored.Sure, not enough to win the league, or anything else, come to that. But to improve on a dismal league season, it is. Makes us stronger than we were, so not a complete failure.

We are rapidly moving further and further down the list
Aye, just responded above that our central attacking midfield is a concern. And yes, Son, no matter his sporadic performances last season is also a loss. I’d have been more concerned right now if we had those players available and no Palhinha though. A player we have been missing for years. In isolation makes us stronger but we have lost Son, Maddison and Kulu. That context can't be ignored.
They're not wrong ....
He will carry the can for this below average window. We won’t sign anyone and then you’ll hear in a few weeks that Lange has been put on gardening leave. It’s too obvious.

We are rapidly moving further and further down the list and will also be off to AFCON mid December
No, we were short in that area when we were overreliant on Maddison, a single player whose form and fitness are inconsistent. And I agree, a central attacking, creative midfielder is an area we are short in.
