Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Hell get flipped in a year or two for a profit.

This seems to be Chelsea's MO now, but up everyone, keep the cream and flip the rest to make a profit. I'm starting to think this is why they're giving them such long term contracts, which we all laughed at originally, keeps their value up when they offload, while they still have enough talent and "name" to attract good bids.

Expensive in the short term, but I'm wondering if it reaps big rewards over the long term.
They've eaten a bunch of losses this summer, to be clear. Big ones on Felix and Nkunku.

I think more has happened today than we think...
We've agreed a fee with Leipzig and we've probably agreed personal terms with the player or close enough. We're his fallback option. He's waiting for Chelsea. Just like Eze with Woolwich.

I hope I'm wrong but it feels pretty obvious that this is the current state of affairs. Even all reports have mentioned spurs being afraid of Chelsea. Basically we're hoping they don't bid!

So you spend the day Shmoozing him and his entourage, give him the tour of the training facilities and the stadium, discuss the first team project and how he’ll be involved, pitch your offer and then …..

…..tell him the deal is off because you’re concerned your pride takes a dent if he doesn’t choose you?!

Okayyyyyyyyyy! Sounds an interesting negotiating tactic!

:harrylol:

Agree with you mate, but you do all that and the bloke is still thinking.

Who the hell is he.

Being the fallback option should never be allowed. Its the same as setting yourself up for failure, and we've seen that as evidence this window. Which is why what you think is a possibility but we cant put everything into one basket, Spurs need to move on quick once there is confirmation.

Has he not gone to Bayern? I can't keep up with them. Just thought that deal was as good as done.

Chelsea thinks Jackson might be Newcastle's panic splurge to replace Isak.

But now that's Woltemade.

So that would seem to clear the path to get Jackson out, then Simons in. But then what's this about bidding for Lopez?

Yes but at that point you give him a pen and he either signs a contract subject to a medical or he’s kicked out
We have zero credibility issuing an ultimatum and he knows it.
