Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Inverthewing is a weird dude. Delusions of grandeur with him.

Doubt there’s any substance to his “intel”, but if it’s true then it’s not hard to understand that the 75% is Chelsea and 25% is Tottenham. If the various reports of a Spurs offer are accurate, he could agree terms with us right now and this would all be done. Since the deal is not finished, it’s clear that we’re not the 75 in his 75/25 scenario.
I'm not familiar enough with the account to have any view about whether he's legit or not but, since he appears to be a Spurs fan, I took his concern over scaring people and then removing his post as an indication that his percentages skewed in our favour not Chelsea's... but maybe that's because I was unusually confident yesterday that we would get this done.

Waking up to the overnight news from Romano et al makes me think the post may well have been legit.

How gullible and naïve many Spurs fans are hey

He's genuine for sure though. The only real ITK on there, just lurks and rarely posts

I’ve not really seen Simons play apart from the couple of clips they always show
So at this point I’m sort of not sure what I think about the whole transfer tbh
But are some fans , now at the point of just wanting a transfer without knowing to much about the player
Don’t get me wrong, we need need players in , but in the right positions
Not just to appease fans with a signing

Chelsea have to sell a player to be able to sign a player, per FFP rules to be allowed to play in the Champions League.

Nkunku out meant they had space for Garnacho. Now, they have to move Nicolas Jackson out to make room for Simons. Reading a Chelsea forum, their fans aren’t sure they can move him to Bayern anymore and Newcastle isn’t buying Jackson after moving for Woltemade.

Now, Leipzig want to play Simons on Saturday (hence the 48-hour London window), if a deal isn’t finalized with us or Chelsea. So, Chelsea have to move Jackson tomorrow or Simons is likely headed to N17 (or back to Leipzig).

In short, watch the Nicolas Jackson news tomorrow.

If that’s true then we should do all we can to slow that down. Seems like Bayern are the only team interested so I’m sure we could ask them a favour to drag it out a couple of days. We seem to have a good relationship with them.

If Jjetset is confirming the it's as good as done, that's Donna Cullen's brother - completely legit source.

I get the feelings towards Hercules and Trix and I completely get the feelings towards the unfunny bully A&C but JJetset is legitimate. He was a top ITK back in the day and has confirmed why he isn't anymore as he's moved country.
If he is saying something then it's worth listening

Have seen him play. He will definitely improve us if we manage to get over the line. And if its for 60 mil its a great deal too

The thing is imo, if we truly want to stick to the buy undervalued with sell on potential or even god forbid, potential to become quality with us, then there are ways to do that with the correct set up, clubs all over Europe manage to do it every season.

Now, I don't think a club with the revenues we have should look to do that only undervalued or potential transers because there's no excuse for why we can't spend for quality at the level of Woolwich & Liverpool, ignoring City & Chelsea for obvious reasons and United as well.

But, for arguments sake, if one were to say that's the way forward, buying shrewdly with young players and when I say young I mean early 20s not solely teenagers, then why not invest in the recruitment side of things properly and make a go of 3/4 big signings that are clearly within budget given the revenues every summer whilst also being best in class of hoovering up the undervalued younger ones?

If you take a look at the signings the teams in the other top 5/8 leagues make, for less than 10/15 mil by the way, they're the ones that after a couple of seasons get quoted for ridiculous money to Prem teams but these clubs aren't performing some unknown magic, it's solid scouting.

I'm only posting this in response to you mate Brian Fantana Brian Fantana as it's part of my point, there's a time you can get these players for a good price but we insist on pretending for the name brands we refuse to pay for despite having the money and at the same time don't do the work required to pick up a host of the next ones up when they're cheap.

Signings like Bergvall or Sarr, there should be 50/60M set aside for that for how ever many every season along with established players given the revenues but it's all a fucking mess.

Cheers for the reply. Yeah I agree with you 100% there. It all boils down to us not knowing what we want to be as a football club and that is down to levy. We haven’t had a clear consistent identity, well a positive one anyway, for a long time. Definitely not on the recruitment side and I think that will never change with ENIC around. I think Levy wants us to be the Dortmund of England because he wants to buy cheap and sell high. Trouble is, that just isn’t possible in this league because of the greater pressure to be a success and the toughness of the division. We don’t have the right recruitment set up for it either.
