Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

That’s some 4D chess by our illustrious Chairman :levystare:
Levy Plays 5D chess, we are all just playing checkers!!!!

Step 1 - Loan Timo for an excessive Amount :levywtf:
Step 2 - Fake bid for MGW
Step 3 - Make the goons spend their Cash on Eze:levywhoa:
Step 4 - Allow Chelsea to think they have a free Run at Simons and let them drag it out trying to save money:levyhands:
Step 5 - Swoop in at the last minute and get our Number 1 target, while also saving a months wages in the process!!!!:levylol:

Why wouldn't we be, only a few days ago post Eze saga people were bemoaning the fact that our chairman needs to build relationships with other chairman as it stops us from getting deals done :porrohands:
Build relationships, but not that one. Apart from the fact they are the very epitome of everything wrong with football, what transfer business does it stop? To find a serious transfer you probably have to go back to Venables in the 1960s. Or are we meant to be grateful for Jason Cundy?

CF: Richy, Solanke
LW: NEW, Odobert
RW: Kudus, Johnson
CAM: Simons, Kulu

Tel loaned out. Kulu to come back in eventually.

If we can get that starting LW we would have finally given our attack the much needed full face-lift.

We will be a force again.

If I had a choice out of MGW and Eze or Simons. Id choose Simons. All's well that ends well.

Now for the left winger.

I agree with the upper part.

But not with the lower one - I am pretty sure that in offensive department this is it.
We play many games with 4-3-3 and 5-3-2 anyway which do not have traditional 10. Nor is Simons traditional 10.
In 4-3-3 he can be part of front 3 and in 5-3-2 can be most advanced midfielder.

When we play 4-2-3-1 in that option he is #10 and the LW can be covered by combination of Odobert, Johnson and potentially Richie once Solanke gets fit.

So in summary - I mean, yes, we could use Savinho like winger too to add quality into that department. But trying to stay realistic, it seems that our business in that sector is done after Simons.

But I'd like us to add another midfielder into the mix. And now that Vuskovic has left on loan than maybe a versatile defender too.

Simons is a no joke top signing. Need a winger as well but Palhinha, Kudus and Simons is very good, they are proper first 11 signings.

Savinho and Ake would complete the team if that could be done but I think it will be Lookman or that French bloke.

STILL NO!

Help me out Richard Arlison Richard Arlison

I confess I have not seen much of Simons but when I have seen him in the odd game he has never stood out or struck me as top draw player. Granted, I have probably seen games when he's been below par but I do worry he has had a few clubs now and still only 22. What sort of player is he? Modric, De Bruyne, Kaka, Foden. I'm struggling to zero in on what puts him ahead of MGW and Eze who for me are players I could see moving the dial for us.

He’s a proper #10. Ball magnet, low center of gravity, acrobat balance, can pass, dribble and shoot to a world class level. Tenacious little fucker as well, he will put his foot in.

Can play wide as well.

Hes not a big player but stronger than he looks and we have some units in our squad anyway. Especially in MF.
