Again... It's not about predictions. I'm simply saying that IF we wanted to fit another MF or attacker I'd consider cutting either Kinski or one of Tel/Odo..... Kinski aside it's not like the other two are unfathomably proven commodities is it.

We're talking about squad CL spots tho; not who deserves the starting positions the most...... Anyway; BJ or Kudus might cool off and all of a sudden starts are up for grabs. Either way the aim is best quality depth possible (*).

(*Odd that I'm finding myself saying that after you mocking my reasoning about why I didn't see Hincapie as high priority, but hey ho............)

Again "likelyhood" is just a byword for "prediction" in this context.... I didn't chime in with a crystal ball.

Obviously we are making predictions. This whole thing started with the premise of me sharing a tweet about the sqaud places in the CL and saying based on that, my most logical prediction is that we are signing a defender at most.

That was the conversation you chose to get involved in and now you decide that you don't want to make predictions based on the CL squad make up..

Sure, it's about having the best squad. If we are getting a player who guarrantees you the goals that you lose from Johnson's minutes, then fine go and get him and send one of Tel/Odobert out of the CL squad. But again, making a prediction here, that's unlikely with 3 days to go and to me looks like we aren't even trying to do that now that Simmons is done.

I really can't see us sending Tel out on loan. A young player who had substantial hype behind him a few years ago, that we've only just made permanent. Really can't see it happening.

Absolutely not; but both he AND Odobert must have known they've been auditioning all summer for their place in the pecking order (*).... If meritocracy means that one of the two find themselves not picked for the CL squad then that's just hard knox........... Go own the EPL & domestic cups and make the Gaffa think again in the winter....... They're all but kids; not seniors with track-records for this club.

(*If they'd dazzled the gaffa that much there wouldn't even be talk of buying more wingers.)

You think the talk of buying more wingers is coming from Frank not being impressed by Tel and Odobert in training? you basing that on quotes from him or just your own wild assumptions?

I responded to the tweet (and made that perfect clear in my first post)........ It said:

"So I’ve been trying to understand how Spurs are going to approach the UCL registration limits… thoughts "

The only person making predictions is/was you, fella.

Maybe all the links all have been BS; but nothing "wild" about the theory I projected........

IF he's after what you're insistent would be our 4th (!!!) LWer; then he's obviously not content with the 3 (!!!) he has. 🙄

Yea, personally still have a lot of patience with Odobert and Tel, as you said they're effectively still kids, now playing under a manager with actual tactics. Especially with Tel I don't think we can read too much into his last season's performance.

I'm still not quite sure that Tel is actually a LW, so even if we bring another one in I don't see us as being stacked in that position.

LW: New LW/Odobert
CF: Richi/Solanke/Tel
RW: Kudus/Johnson

Kane will be back next summer, I feel it in my bones.
His contract is until 2027 and Bayern will not want to let him go on a free. (yes, they may offer contract extension)
He will be 33 at start of next season and time will be running out to take Shearers' record.
Good Lord, this team with Kane up front would challenge for the title. He’s have to have other attackers around him doing most of the hard pressing to keep him fresh at that age. He’d play deeper like sheringham natch. And he’s banned from free kicks! But he would breeze past Shearer’s record and win some silverware with us. It’s ok to daydream!

I don’t think he has the talent and I think he does give his all. This is as good as it gets with him. Very happy to be proven wrong and a lot of people here have long memories and will be able to make me eat humble pie

What realistic level of performance out of him would make you “eat humble pie?” He’s already producing at a high level, as has been repeatedly pointed out.

If ~15 goals/10 assists in all comps is indeed “as good as it gets” for him, that’s pretty useful, no? Very odd to fixate on forcing that out of the lineup purely because of some aesthetic preference for whatever you think a winger “should” play like.
