Can't help but feel all the people banging the lookman drum will be the same ones moaning he has to be sold in a year to 18 months and we can't shift him.

He's done absolutely nothing outside of this spell with Atalanta. Zero. Zilch. Nadda. Fuck all.
He'll be 28 in about 2 months. This will be his last big move. When it doesn't work, we'll be stuck with him on the payroll until he's we'll into his 30s

Sorry, I'll be sure to seek your permission before formulating my next post remembering a former player with over 250 apps in one of the best Spurs teams in my lifetime :levystare:
You are more than welcome to think whatever you like, but thinking Lamela was some unreal player just isn’t true.

Yeah it's a definite risk. Can't help but wonder how Soloman would do at Atlanta? Probably be worth 40mil in a year's time if he went there and stayed fit.

As I said - Atalanta want to get rid of him for big money.
They know that if they allow loan with an option, everyone will know he is shit.

Not even brightest light in weaker league and highly attacking setup.
60 mil ? Hahah, gotta be kididng me. If we go for this we will be writing off 40-50 million (transfer loss+ wage money) at the very second.
At this point in time he would represent a marginal gain compared to current options (Jonhsnon, Odobert, Tel, Solomon) but all of them are lot younger. At their age he was shitting pants at every possible club.

You are more than welcome to think the be all and end all of a player's relative contribution to a team starts and ends with the G+A column but I think I'd rather live in the world that can appreciate the nuance of what Lamela's general play brought to the team, his relentless high pressing led to a lot of turnovers for the more incisive players to contribute, his defensive covering allowed Walker and then Trippier to get up the pitch without fear of abandoning their position, he was never the best player in the side, far from it, but he worked his fucking nuts off and dealt with many difficult injuries for the club. He deserves to be remembered fondly and with respect IMO.

Has everyone missed Martinez not even in the squad for villa due to transfer speculation?

Or Wissa or Isaak not playing or even showing up?

It doesn't really matter of they start or not even in the squad, nobody knows what will happen.
It is more likely a player wants to leave if he refuses to be involved though, that is for sure.

Isak deserves the sh!t he will get, regardless of what happens.

Martinez and Villa probably agreed to hos omission. Wissa wants his move snd is agitating.

Guehi is honouring his contract and Palace are prepared to carry the risk.

I think Palace will refuse to sell Guehi and resign themselves to him going on a free, they might well struggle for survival if they compromise their defensive solidity after shipping out their most important attacker and there's nowhere near the time left to identify a replacement now. Bet Pool wish they'd hung on to Quansah, might've made the perfect Frazier Campbell type makeweight to get a deal done at this very late stage.
