Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

There aren't top grade strikers out there. Period.

We have needed at least a n other all summer-long. Now it seems even more so.

We are seemingly close. We should not have needed until today, but we aren't alone in that regard.

Let's judge the quality of the targets once we have seen them in our shirt. So many players are better in other teams, or so we think.

Richy
Muani - Simons - Kudus
Palinha - Sarr
Spence - VDV - Romero - Porro
Vic
If Richy can put his boots on the right feet more often then that's a pretty substantial attacking upgrade on last season.

That side should be getting top 4.

Haven't seen that much of Muani but from when I have seen him play for France and PSG every time he's missed at least one very good chance. Seems to panic a bit when he knows he should score. Saying that he had a decent record for Juventus. Let's be honest this is a bit of a deadline day Levy special. Loan with cheap buy clause. Let's hope he's more Van der Vaart than Fraiser Campbell.

I think the problem is we have bought on the left players not quite upto the job. So Solomon, Tel, Odobert, Johnson.

Players either not quite there or to young. You only have to look at Bournemouth, they knew Kudus could do damage with his runs so they double or trebled up on him knowing we can’t function well down the left side.

The window has been good but only to the extent we are now buying first 11 players which is what we needed. The likes of Odobert are great but they need to be supplemental youngsters who will take the position over many years. Having wingers both side who can press, dribble and ball carry makes us far harder to play against so for me Lookman was a very important part of that.

An attack of the below would hurt even the best teams.

Kudus Simons Lookman
Solanke
I don't disagree on what we've bought.
It will take time is all I am saying.

More broadly there seems to be a few big clubs struggling to buy quality wingers. Lots of revolving doors going on.

Cause Liverpool

36 games...but barely 1300 minutes.

Actually he played 19 games last season

358 over the first half for PSG. 10 games, 2 starts. Average of 35.8 mins per app.
1,160 over the second half for Juve. 16 games, 13 starts. Average of 72.5 mins per app.

(League only)

Not a clue where you're getting your stats from, but I'm suspicious it's contraflow to your digestion

(1954 mins over 36 apps: https://www.whoscored.com/players/333542/history/randal-kolo-muani)

It's true, we always things to the last minute instead of getting things done early for proper pre season, that's Spurs though.... And we love it
