Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Parrish will do whatever he thinks is the best for Palace even archnemesis Simon Jordan concedes that point...he is fallible though as demonstrated by Palace's demotion to the ECL.

These TW moves often have knock on effects....like for instance Glasner threatening to walk if Geuhi was sold despite the fact both clubs putting the paperwork in, hence no £35m coming in and pulling out of the loan with us.

Here are goal-scoring and assist leaders last year in the Premier League. The characters are so tiny because I wanted to include Isak in both measures. Left side is goal-scoring. Right side is assists. Look at the very top first. There is Salah who last year was both the top goal-scorer and the top assist-maker in the Premier League. And look at where Isak is when it comes to assisting. What that shows is that he can't pass or that he doesn't pass. And he will now play at Liverpool. He will share the pitch with Mo Salah. And who should Liverpool players give the ball to? To him or to Salah? At Newcastle all balls went to Isak. Every single one. And will that be the case at Liverpool? What an idiotic transfer. So much money. And for what?

Why are you obsessed with this? Does it affect Spurs in any way?

Fuck the Geordies, only become relevant again due to Saudi oil money.

The Athletic had a crack at rating all 153 Premier League transfers from worst (Marcus Bettinelli - who?) to best. This is how they ranked our signings - Kudus and Simons should be higher, but Spurs also took out their number 1 spot...

141. Kota Takai, Kawasaki Frontale to Tottenham Hotspur

The Athletic’s reported transfer fee: £5m

Contract length: Five years

Promising 6ft 4in Japanese centre-back whose fee is a record for a homegrown player leaving the J-League. The 20-year-old is currently around Spurs’ first-team squad covering for long-term injury absentee Radu Dragusin, but will likely head out on loan before long.

121. Mathys Tel, Bayern Munich to Tottenham Hotspur

The Athletic’s reported transfer fee: £38.9m (with add-ons)

Contract length: Six years

The initial agreed fee of £47.6million when the French forward arrived on loan in last season’s winter window was negotiated down after an underwhelming few months. Huge potential, a really high ceiling and still very young having turned 20 in April, but potential is all it is for the moment.

78. Kevin Danso, Lens to Tottenham Hotspur

The Athletic’s reported transfer fee: £20.9m

The Athletic’s reported contract length: Five years

Will be Spurs’ third-choice centre-back, but given the injury records of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, he’ll play plenty and in the meantime is excellent backup compared to the club’s recent standards in that role. Limited as a player but very solid and a great character in the dressing room, plus he’s already a bit of a hero for the part he played in helping them win the Europa League while on loan last season.

52. Mohammed Kudus, West Ham United to Tottenham Hotspur

The Athletic’s reported transfer fee: £55m

The Athletic’s reported contract length: Six years

On his day, a maverick with the dribbling ability to light up and win any match, but inconsistency and his temperament have been issues, even if he has kissed and made up with new team-mate Micky van de Ven over the slap that got him sent off in a Spurs-West Ham game last October.

20. Randal Kolo Muani, Paris Saint-Germain to Tottenham Hotspur

Transfer fee: Loan

Contract: One year

Bit of a statement signing. So quick, so dangerous in the final third and surely so motivated to revive his career in a World Cup year. Nicely done.

13. Xavi Simons, RB Leipzig to Tottenham Hotspur

The Athletic’s reported transfer fee: £52m

The Athletic’s reported contract length: Five years

Tough to judge, this one. An all-encompassing No 10 who put up great numbers (10 goals and six assists in 25 Bundesliga league appearances) in a struggling team last season. Intelligent, agile, an expert ball-carrier and a supreme creator in the final third. The 22-year-old Dutchman has had a weird career path and needs a permanent home and a bit of love, but he could be a game-changer for Spurs if new coach Thomas Frank can mould the attack around him.

1. Joao Palhinha, Bayern Munich to Tottenham Hotspur

Transfer fee: Loan

Contract length: One year

For two years with Fulham, Palhinha was arguably the Premier League’s best hairy-a***d ball-winning anchorman, and possibly one of Europe’s best too. For Spurs to bring him back to England for peanuts adds a layer of steel to their midfield that has been missing for some time. Palhinha will not only shore up their defence, but will also help allow their creative talents to shine.

Palhinha #1? I’d say both Kudus and Simons are much more important signings for us.

Count how many goals here are off of deflections and how many are penalty kicks. He's nowhere near that great. Plus a drama queen, it seems. He didn't create a single of those goals. Truly create. He's not that great of a football player. And yet he's the record transfer.

I have the same feeling. Good striker for sure but way overpriced!

Not even close to the likes of Haaland, Aguero, Kane, Drogba,...

Liverpool seem to believe that loading up their front line with tallish, speedish, selfish strikers (Gakpo, Ekitike, Isak) is a recipe for scoring goals.

You guys know about Luis Diaz. The best Colombian football player. Liverpool had him under contract for two more years. And they got rid of him. Luis Diaz.
What The Hell Wtf GIF

Always hoped he’d play a decent role for us. He’s a solid player. Hopefully being in Spain will help his development - and also get him away from the toxic political morons who can’t just let footballers be footballers. Remember the noise around Lucas M? Absolute idiots.

Development? Who gives a fuck?

We need to be selling him first chance we get, average player that's done the square root of fuck all in a Spurs shirt and yet some on here are acting as if he's some sort of club legend for 'ahem' reasons.

Excellent TW, and this is just the start.

I feel sure that with seven signings Frank is pretty happy overall.

Maybe one or two in January and adding to the squad next Summer.

Small, but very positive steps for the club.

In all honesty we got a few names I thought were out of reach.

I was hammering Levy for not making the most of us being in the CL and whilst I still think he could and should have done more, we have got a few names through the door due to our CL status I feel.

Kudus and Simons on permanent deals along with loans for Palinha and Kolo Muani are an adequate level of quality that makes the team stronger than it was last season.

I'm pretty sure also that we purposely haven't strengthened LW so we can have another Savinho push come January.

Overall I give it a 7/10.

I actually don't think he's average. He ball striking ability is very good. And he's really quick. I remembered the beginning of Ange period him and Perisic were very useful in changing the games for us. Another case of don't know how he didn't has more game time to make it far. My opinion is I just feel his political stance may be a bit too strong for the club and mix with the lads/coaching staff.

Give it a rest ffs. Isak will score 20+ league goals and they’ll win the league at a canter.

Bissouma gets less respect on this site and he played his part in helping us win a trophy.

Soloman though? Some are acting as if he's done as much for us as Son!

Strange, no?

Anyway, overall it ended up being a good window imo but still at least a couple more should've been brought in.

No, they aren't, that is your bias reading into things IMHO -

I agree though, it was a good window. 2 signings short of excellent but I think anyone would have taken this window before it began

Vicario
Porro
Romero
Van De Ven
Udogie
Palinha
Bentancur
Kudus
Xavi
Kolo Muani
Solanke

Kinsky
Spence
Dragusin
Danso
Davies
Sarr/ Gray
Bergvall
Kulusevski/ Maddison
Johnson
Tel/ Odobert
Richarlison

Overall even with injuries to a few players over the coming months our squad looks able on levels that also allow for rotation.

Key to it will be how quickly Xavi can settle and that LW. Odobert and Tel have a huge opportunity in the next few months to stake a claim.

Rating Palinha over Simons or Kudus?

Had they been drinking?

They made Palinha the best signing of the entire transfer window? For any team?
