I would try and get Paulinha out of Bayern. We need to get some experienced steel down the spine of the side or face another long season. I think a pivot of him and Bergvall would be very nicely balanced.

He’s a good player for sure. Him and Luiz seem similar ideas imo.

I’d be happy with either.

Think the club will look at the deal for Cardoso as one they’ve already done and better value. In also think he’s built for the PL as well but could take 3 months to get used to it. Palinha and Luiz would hit the ground running

They probably will, and he might be great. What’s more than likely is he’ll need loads of time to adapt to a totally different speed of game and physicality. And he might never be a standout. We know Paulinha could come in straight away and protect a defence, tussle with the most physical PL players and give the ball to more gifted team-mates. What this callow side really needs is some PL-hardened competitors to help the talented kids.

That is exactly what we need

Piero Hincapié

Connor Gallagher

Nico González

Victor Boniface

Harvey Elliott making noises about his future at the Scousers. Worth a punt?

No thanks. I don't think we can afford to take a chance on him.

Was about to agree but I think this can be also accomplished with a good veteran head coach. A young team for sure is less grizzled than a veteran one but our primary problem isn't youth and inexperience so much as it is terrible coaching and tactics.

It was her that told me not to believe you.

Amazing the difference decent players can make.

We haven’t been able to play out from the back since Ange swapped Bissouma out for Ploddy Ploddencur. Playing people like Kulusevski & Sarr as 8’s doesn’t help either.
Lol you think Bissouma is the answer? Bissouma is not a good passer, he is ok at beating a press but doesn't do it enough and not consistent at all. Funny that you watch benta play internationals and he's brilliant at playing out from the back because other teams don't have both fullbacks inverted taking all the space, providing no options out wide.

The problem is there are so few good veteran coaches around. We also generally do better as a club with coaches coming up in their career than ones more long in the tooth because of the intransigence of Levy and the ownership.

I just think that as a team, we’ve lost any fear factor we used to have under Poch or with Kane and Son. Other teams look at us and think “yeah, we can get at this lot”. A good coach can help with that but we also need a couple of players with know how. Always used to hate playing Paulinha at Fulham. He’d kick all our good players, time waste if they had something to hold on to, win loads of duels, and was generally a be a pain in the ass. All things we don’t do currently.

Hojbjerg was the one guy we had that really knew how to do that. And we sent him packing over the summer.

As divisive as he was for his lack of flair and technical ability. I do think that he is going to be one of those players that get missed once they are gone for us.
