Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

All of this discussion about Tel is pointless. The kid is going to stay, whether we like it or not. It screams of a Levy signing. He’s still only 19, so I do have high hopes for him after he gets adapted to the pace of PL football.
May happen because Levy’s ego can stomach the idea of having stupidly wasted €10M on Tel’s loan fee - so perhaps he’ll add an another stupid decision on top of already made stupid decision to pay the loan fee.

But let’s see how much Bayern are willing to lower the transfer fee because NO way even Levy and our scouting dept spend €55M and maybe Paratici can put a stop to the whole thing unless the fee gets down to the Bergvall level of €10-12M.

But crazy to spend a lot on another yet another speculative winger when we already have Oddobert, Moore, Yang and Ajayi.

I think the best thing is to turn off the phone until the season starts in August and see who is the manager and who has signed.
No point wasting time and debating on any of it because it will be decided for us.

What do you think is more important to Levy, saving money or boosting his ego?

Do people really want to go into a new season with Vicario in goal?

Have people forgotten about his inability to deal with set-pieces?

To build a great team, you need a good goalkeeper.

Emi Martinez should be our first signing of the Summer.
I’d like to think defending set pieces is something we can work on. I think there might even be coaches that specialize in this sort of thing……

If I had a choice I'd take ramsdale over Vic..
And sane.. absolutely for 2 years he'd be fine. from what I saw of him last season at Munich he's still a top class act BUT can't for a minute think he'll be cheap or there will be much of a deal to be made.@ 29 and a free agent he'll be looking towards getting a large contract.
You'd rather take the former Woolwich keeper who has had 3 out of 4 clubs that he has started for relegated than Vicario?

Why are we not taking this opportunity to hijack man uniteds move for Cunha?

You have to be ruthless in this game.

This is why I said that mob will be completely fine without a Europa League win when loads of people said they will be in the mud.

Apart from Moore, he's miles ahead of the other ones.

I'd argue that he is ahead of Moore as well.

I am not as sold on Mikey as everyone else seems to be. Mikey is promising but needs to be out on loan.
At the moment sure, he's better than Moore. I just think Moore has a bit of a higher potential. Ajayi and Yang aren't even close to him, while Odobert might be comparable, but still doesn't have that kind of potential.

when is the window open?
bit different this year

It opens on June 1st (in 4 days) but then closes again on June 10th.

It then opens again on June 16th until September 1st.

I think they wanted to give teams in the club world cup the possibility to get players in early but it's a ridiculous way of doing it. Every team can sign players in the new 9 day window, not just those in the CWC.

Been offered Sane, apparently

We need to stop buying players that bigger teams are desperate to get rid of.

How are we going to hijack it? Levy would only offer half of the salary that United are offering, it’s a non-starter.

Unless Levy changes his approach to wages we will be shopping in the same tier that we have for the last 5 years. You either come here for a big fee but a modest wage or you come here on a loan/free transfer and we pay a fairly large salary like with Perisic and Werner.

Levy does not buy players who cost £60m and then pay them £200k.

Why bother closing it?

Open it, CWC have a squad registration deadline to prevent mid-tournament signings benefiting participants, just leave the window open for everyone else.

There's absolutely no purpose in having the window be "closed" once the season finishes anyway. You can sign a player now, just not register them until the window opens, or if you do away with the window you could sign and register them now, either way, they aren't putting boots on until pre-season. (CWC teams aside).

You are right, but maybe we should do what other clubs do, consult the fans, hold meetings, and then sign players on the consensus view, ,once we have held a vote on the transfer fee.

Probably an unpopular opinion but I'm not a fan of the Sane links. Feels like a Chelsea/Man United signing. He's 29 and not getting any better. He is also on 250k a week so would come in as one of our highest earners.

Personally I'd rather see us just keep Son and sign a younger winger with potential to become the next star. I'm not convinced this current version of Sane is a huge upgrade on Son going into next season!

I've similar thoughts about Jack Grealish. Would prefer to see us just go and get Eze instead! This idea of picking up scraps from big clubs rarely works out. Sterling, Casemiro, Varane, De Ligt, Ugarte. Loads of recent examples. Better off trying to sign the up and coming star and not the has been.
