Devine I think can impress during pre-season. Donley I am torn on. He's done really well at Orient so it would be fun to see him in the first team, but on the other hand he could do with another loan.
Yeah think Donley might need a Championship loan, especially if he ain't going to get enough minutes at Tottenham.
Plus I don't think we have the right manager to improve the younger players.

Either championship or to Westerlo if we are going to have a "special relationship with them" and they are keen on having some new spurs youth on loan. Getting him into a first division and the pressure that comes with that could do him well.

Or Aberdeen perhaps. Get him some European experience to boot.

Looking at his record, he's played 45 games a season for the last 5 years, scored 10-15 goals.

He is an elite winger. If the club had any ambition they'd be all over it. I'd love us to make signings like this.

I just get the impression with this guy, as fantastic as he can be, that he would not see this move as the one where he goes 'right okay, my last shot, lets make it happen and leave it all out there'.

Call me crazy, but I feel it in my gut he wouldn't be worth it.

Regardless, I doubt he comes to Spurs - he earns too much.

Sometimes being in a good team and around good players motivates people.

Look at Casimero's drop off at united. People just get fed up.

You need to buy good players to get that momentum going. I agree its a risk, but I also think people discard good players because they are close to 30. For every Sonny there is a Modric or Salah.

This is the main reason we should really be selling players for each player we buy. For example if we do buy Sane, keep Son and sign Tel. That is Mikey Moore down to 4th choice left winger. Also a high chance that Odobert or Brennan would be moved to the left ahead of Moore if it came down to it. Similarly in midfield, we could sign Eze and Cordosa this summer for example. Further moving Donley down the pecking order.

Now this is how you have to operate. You have to keep adding first team players to improve your team. But its important we sell in these areas too. For example if we did sign Wharton/Baleba then we have to sell Bissouma just so Donley is still in contention to break in. Thats why I'm against the Sane signing. I'd only sign Sane if we were selling Son. Otherwise you are just moving Moore further away from the first team.

We have to give the academy guys some sort of chance. They obviously have to earn it by taking their chances when it comes but we can't make it impossible for them by having 4 or 5 senior players in the queue ahead of them! Ideally they should be third choice in their roles. We made a mistake brining in Werner last season as all it did was block Mikey's progression. I feel like Sane could be similar unless we decide to sell Son.

Liverpool signing Wirtz and Frimpong. Woolwich signing Zubimendi. United signing Cunha. Meanwhile we're still undecided whether to keep our manager or not and it seems like we have to wait some time for that decision. Early days and hope I'm wrong obviously but really feels like it's gonna be yet another summer where we are indecisive and lacking in ambition. Champions League or not seems to make no difference in how we act.

It's not even June yet ffs. Feel free to moan a bit later on.

FFS.

We still await the big, crucial decision.

Then we must hope from the land beyond beyond, in a world past hope and fear, I bid you genie now appear....... pretty please.

My expectation is very low, as I just don't see a plan or any kind of strategy,or at least not one that offers anythjng tangible.

Sane is immense, the idea he's not right for is in terms of ability is officially crazy talk. Doubt he would come, and not sure how he'd fit in with what we're doing (ie improving on 17th place), but I'd love him here
Watch him closely and you might not agree. When he’s on it he can be electric but when I’ve seen him this season he makes so many wrong decisions in the final third. Don’t get me wrong he’s a million times better than what we’ve got. His pace is still incredible

That why most might be better getting a loan until we have the right manager for the youngsters.
Don't think much development will be happening at the moment.

Hmmmm, a classy European winger, late-20's but with bags of experience
Perisic springs to mind... and we know how we broke him!!!

....unless he goes elsewhere... Then no doubt he'll put Modric's longevity and trophy haul in the shade!!
