Is Scott a failure?

IIRC, he had back to back injuries, with at least one of them being serious, ACL?
Perhaps not, perhaps the jury is still out on him - I was using him as he was used by others in the posts I was replying to, but perhaps unfairly. I guess the point is that there are many championship players touted as the next big thing, yet many of them make little or no impact in the EPL, but people tend to ignore all of those (relative) 'failures' and simply point to the few successes saying "see, I knew we should have signed him, everyone knew he was destined for big things" etc. It's more difficult than people realise to predict which of them will actually be very successful in the EPL in the future (as opposed to claiming 'it was obvious' after the successful few have done it).

Out:
Son
Biss
Solomon
Gil
Richy
Loan kids

In:
Eze/Simons
Mbuemo
Striker/Tel
Ederson/Rovella/Frattesi
Hincapie

Basically 5 in 5 out. Dramatically changes the season outlook. This is what a club that wants to “compete on all fronts” does this summer,

A serious club that genuinely wants to compete on all fronts doesn't have Solanke and a 138yo Vardy as their striker options. They have a beast No 9, then Solanke as his backup and Vardy + a promising kid as emergency cover.
Solankes strengths are hard work and pressing - that starts to wane for every player in their late 20’s so he’s gonna be bang average and on the wane in the next year or so. Without those attributes, there’s just a half decent mid table striker at best

Any free transfers, guv?

In all seriousness, not a chance I would sell Richy and bring in Tel to replace him. If we signed the other four and kept Richy, that’s an amazing summer

I love Richy as you can tell from my user. He can’t stay fit though. Conte and Geoff Scott broke him and he’s never been robust since.

Tel is unbelievably underrated on here and by our fan base in general. Hes a CF with the dribbling and crossing of an inside forward. Whether it’s with us or not, he will absolutely be a top level attacker

We could get Wissa who is older and maybe more ready now but Tel has more CL experience and will perform better in Europe IMO. Plus he’s younger.

Sorry for laughing at this...

You are correct of course, this is what a club that means business does.

This isn't what we are going to do. I can confidently say our window will not be anything close to that.

I can see 2-3 players in, and two of them will be cheap and Danny Rose will have to Google them. If we are very lucky we get an Eze to give the illusion that we want to compete.

We are defo pushing hard for Eze. Some believe it’s Staverley who is now in charge of the pushing…
I just don't see why he would come here, surely Woolwich, Chelsea, Man City, Newcastle and Villa would want him in their first 11? Maybe Liverpool who have a fairly settled side are the only team in the Prem that doesn't need a player like that.

Agreed, because this is what we do. And don't forget, Frank is coming in to receive average players and make them out-perform. That's why he's getting the job.

You are right, I know you are right.

Still what we should do
