Thinking as to who I would like to see us sign. I don't follow all the other European leagues anywhere near as closely as I used too and am abit unaware of the up and coming players in Europe and beyond.
I really don't think our first team is anywhere near as bad as many make out and it also carries players with huge potential also.

I'd like to see

Eze 65m
Ederson 40m?
Lcb/lb 30m

Another forward player would be fantastic, mbueno or mitoma or even grealish for his ball carrying, dribbling, retention ability. I'm not a big fan of tel but I'm happy to follow what frank, lange, partatici feel.

Porro---------Romero---VDV---------Udogie
--------------Ederson-------Bergvall-----------
------ ----------Maddison------------------------
--------Johnson--Solanke---Eze--------------

This imo Is a very good side. Very well balanced and abit of everything in there from front to back. Eze inside left, johnson much more infield making those runs in behind. Ederson and begvall controlling the tempo with a great range of passing between them. As I said an mbueno too would be brilliant but optimistic. Frank would get this unit well versed.

Bench options looking ok to. Spence, bentancur, kulu, son, richy, danso, gray, moore

If son does go then another top calibre attacker is needed, mitoma as I mentioned.

Unfortunately I'd be selling bissouma and sarr.

Doesn't look anywhere near as doom ang gloom as many make out.

Haha username checks out

ManU close to having ffp issues and have yet to offload Rashford (wages £350k pw) who was on loan at Villa but without CL they cannot afford him so he's back at ManU, Anthony is on loan at Betis but they are not known for paying high wages so to make deal permanently bound to mean manU subsiding the move. A couple of other high earners to consider

Not sure ManU will be keen on paying anything like £200k pw with no CL income, certainly until they offload their high earners.
See how we take Rashford on loan and cough up for 40-50% of his wages so it helps them get Mbeumo and Gyokeres.

I think they are alright actually. There was an article on the Athletic the other day saying they’ve done some kind of funky financial move with a sister company to reduce their ffp commitments by about £100 million so they’re well within the limits.

Its difficult to be sure, but I think its predicated upon getting rid of some of their highest earners this window, even with whatever funky financial moves they do - their 3rd quarter results came out the other day showing results with the likes of Rashford and Anthony on loan (ie wages off ManU books) and their wages bill had shrunk to 44 % of revenue (almost tracking Spurs)

They’re not in as bad of a an issue as made out to be. Plus the PL have been unable to close the loophole of clubs selling off parts of their club like Chelsea did, and owners just investing at free will. So Ratcliffe could sell off a business and invest £200m quite easily. The league is about to become more fucked.
The PL will never ever touch City, United, Chelsea...no matter how much those clubs fuck about with their finances. They'll always find them an excuse, a loophole, a back door cause they know foreign TV rights & other revenue streams would take a battering without them big names in the league & European comps.

Much easier to take it out on Everton, Leicester, Forest & co.

Yeah but between injuries and rotation, Davies will start over 10 games next season and probably feature in close to 20. That's not good enough if you have ambitions to challenge.

I'd have liked us to part ways and sign someone who can push Udogie or VDV on that left side. Maybe we will still sign that player and if we do then great, no issues. But we've seen this video before. Davies is our fall back option if we don't "find an opportunity" and we know what happens next.
I guarantee you Levy thinks:

- Keepers: no business required

- CB: no business required...Cuti goes, we've already got his replacement in Danso. No need for a new LCB when we've just extended Ben and Archie can deputise for Micky. Also got Vusko & Ash coming back from successful loans

- FB: we're good with Porro, Djed, Udo and Ben/Archie's

- CM: we can afford to let Biss go, we've got plenty with Archie, Lucas, Rod, Kulu, Mads, Sarr plus Alfie Devine & Donley

- Wingers: Brennan, Odobert, Mikey, Sonny, Kulu...just need to get Tel done

- ST: we're sweet with Dom and Richy, plus Dane & Lanks getting a few games here & there. If Richy goes, maybe we get a DLC type...even Jamie Vardy

Everyone jumping on the Wharton bandwagon but he’s become overrated. Everyone sucked into pundits showing a couple passes through the lines need to watch whole games, he’s really poor off the ball, one of the worst midfielders in the league off the ball actually. No mobility, awareness or change of pace when they turn it over. Players just jog past him. Palace play on the break mainly so covers it a bit but I wouldn’t want him in our midfield on our big pitch. I dont see him ever getting a big move personally.

Scott looks like he’s becoming a regular in the Bournemouth team now and he’s looking good the last part of the season. Good all round player. Could break out next year. I’d take Scott here definitely
Yeah the hype for that kid is overblown. He's only played 36 PL games.

Or maybe he wants the new manager to assess the squad.

Maybe the new manager has already said he's happy to keep Ben as other positions are more pressing.

It's a myth that Levy doesn't spend money.

He spends money on fees - it's wages he's massively strict on.

The main issue in recent years is that the big money isn't spent wisely.

I love Ben Davies but that's an insane lack of an ambition renewing his contract! Does that mean we aren't going to sign a new left back? All we need is 2 or 3 injuries at the back and we are back to relying on Ben Davies to start a run of game. You can't expect to be challenging if that's the case.

Hopefully it's more of a leader role and his minutes will be seriously reduced next season. I'd like to think we'll keep Romero and sign another left back but wouldn't be surprised if neither happens and we leave ourselves even shorter next season!

We need about 6-7 signings this summer, a left back was one of them. Now the club has depth in 2 positions it needed depth in for no real outlay.

I understand why they did it but only accept it as a decision if the money saved goes towards the other 5-6 areas we desperately need quality in.
