We definitely do not retain a world class player on big wages.

You then have to come up with how many players in the last 10 to 15 years woulsd objectively be considered to be world class (all clubs outside of City), and who of that group has stayed at their respective club?
There really are very few in the world class category, so it's not just us if we are being brutallly honest.
I don't think there have been more than half a dozen world class (who would get into a world 16), outside of City in a long time.
We keep seeing what we want to see, although it's far from encouraging so far in this window, but that's a world away from saying we don't sign world class players.
