Great post
If anything good came out of the injury crisis it is that Austin showed he is a more than capable option.
He loves Spurs and is content with his role. Couldn't ask for more.
Kinsky is better suited to Angeball, though. But will he be content on the bench?

Right now, I think we just need to be pleased we have 3 capable GK's, including one club trained so doesn't take up a squad place in uefa squad - something we have not had for a few years.

If Kinsky wants to move in a year or two (although he's on a 5 year contract) he moves when we can get in a good alternative GK in.

But for now its one position we do not need to worry about and can spend time and money looking at other areas of he squad. Its just one example of Spurs having a more complete and better squad than we did 12 months or longer ago

The number of top players available and number of top clubs around with lots of money means getting even one top player in would be be a great result.

That's reality. Sadly.

That I think is why we want to grab the best youngsters with potential to be top players, where finished articles are not available (eg we wanted to get Raphina, as did Chelsea and Woolwich after us but he only had eyes for Barcelona )
Agree but hopefully we can at least compete on wages at least now - I can understand why we didn’t layer on more costs of a bloated wage bill under Jose/Conte but no excuses.
Young is fine, but there needs to be a blend with one or two top players a la Solanke

Kinsky was pretty terrible.
Has a goal a game mistake record - if ever a young player should be sent out on loan it's him.
Let him learn his trade and make mistakes somewhere else l.
If he is our number two - we are one injury away from having another dud season.

Kinsky plays against AZ and we properly don't go through.
Vicario plays against Villa and who knows?
Ww badly need a proper number two

Why not Austin

Spurs are playing a very attacking game of football - the basic rationale for that is we can/should score more than other teams and as a consequence have less resource in defence which is bound to hsve the consequences you describe

The point I am making re Bissouma is a lack of concentration so he is not as effective as he should be. And Bentancur is not as good as he was pre injury.

So if we upgrade Bissouma we will not let as many attacks through as currently - whether its with Ange's system or anyone else system.

But that's a very different point to your original post where you were erroneously doubting the improvement in our squad since 12 months ago both in depth but also some quality with the likes of Bergvall now a big plus in quality.
Think you’re mistaking me for someone else. Haven’t said anything about doubting the improvement from 12 months ago. that’s why I found your first reply to me a bit random.

Don’t see changing Bissouma for anyone else as having a bigger influence as you think it will. Anyone would get exposed in that area how we’re playing. Not saying there aren’t any better out there but if we had a really top player people wouldn’t be rating them just by the nature of how we’re playing. With a more balanced team it will be easier to see the areas we might be short in.

We don't have the heavy-weight spine that Poch's team had.

Peak Toby & Jan
Peak Dembele
Prime Eriksen
Ready for greatness Kane.

That's the first class shit you can build around...........We haven't been able to consistently win the midfield battle since the end of 2018.

Most of our current best players are deemed so based on what we assume they'll become.

We are very close- a couple players maturing and stable CB pairing away.

I know folks here think I am mad for saying so, but I stand by it and have much faith in the raw talent and potential of some of our younger players.

For a HG left footed winger with upside we should absolutely be willing to spend a little more.

I'd rather we just spend on Dibling than Tel. Dibling in and our wing rotation next season can look like this:

LW: Son, Odobert, Dibling, Moore, Yang, Richarlison
RW:Odobert, Dibling, Moore, Yang, Kulu, Johnson

I hope Johnson sold for funds and Kulu is converted to full-time 10 but I won't count on that happening. Richarlison though will probably be moved on somewhere. Yang probably goes on loan next season. That would give us:

LW: Son, Odobert, Dibling, Moore, Kulu, LW6
RW: Odobert, Dibling, Johnson, Kulu, Moore, RW6

We would maybe need one more wing capable player. Probably a Delap type ST/LF combo to fill it out. Dibling and Delap bought this summer would make me very happy. Maybe McKenna stays at Ipswich to help permit the sale to us, too.

Pretend we move on Son and also get Delap and we can look like this:

LW: Odobert, Delap, Moore, Dibling, Maddison
RW: Dibling, Odobert, Moore, Johnson, Kulu
ST: Dom, Delap, Kulu
CAM: Maddison, Kulu, Bergvall

I think that would be a pretty cool attack for us, and actually feasible given our spending habits.

You do know that the central midfield is a weak point for us and has been a major reason for Spurs losing matches with Bissouma and Bentancur playing mainly - so the only question is who to replace this summer.

Crazy to want to lose matches through not replacing player(s) that need to be moved on.

Not to mention that youngsters Bergvall and Gray are two of our best performing players at the moment, and Moore has been fantastic considering he's only aged 17 with normal physical development required, which will come naturally - and his end product already better than an experienced player such as Werner. Likely to remain with first team next season getting more minutes with a real break out season the season after

It is hung out to dry by the tactics though isn’t it?

I guarantee if Gray is finally played there he will struggle too and everyone will complain. (Probably why he hasn’t been).

Basically it is hard to judge them but yeah their time may have come to an end. We basically need peak Makelele or Kante or both to make this midfield work in this system. It’s just not going to happen.

Silly post, you’ve got Kukusevski as right wing, left wing , number 10 and even as a striker. What pop are you on?
