Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Isak and Mbuemo is already a HUGE transfer window. 200m on its own…

Then as you you’re saying, they still need CM and a LCB.

Really starting to look like the last dance this year.
If they get Isak and Mbuemo that would cover Salah and overall I think upgrade their front line. VVD is an issue however Liverpool’s main weakness is their midfield, they don’t have anyone who is exceptional there.
I think they'll lose all three on free transfers, which is a bitter - and pricey - pill to swallow. Unless the players do them a solid and sign new contracts before getting shipped out, so Liverpool gets say 20m for each of them...damage limitation kinda thing for the club and the players preserve their aura with the fanbase. But Salah, VVD & Trent know it'd impact their signing bonus, so...

Anyway, I really don't see them bagging Isak. No way Newcastle sells to a rival. If he goes, it's to Real to replace Vinicius or Barca to take over from Lewandowski. But they need much better than Jota and Darwin on top of replacing Salah, so be interesting to see who they go for. Mbeumo is a given but who's the other 2...so wouldn't be shocked to see them go after Harry...and I bet he'd say yes.

Reckon they'll get that lanky CB kid from Bournemouth + Guehi to make up for losing Van Dick. But hey, I wouldn't be surprised if they came after Micky or Cuti.

As for Trent, they'll go big and sign someone like Frimpong (Xabi will tell him all about LFC) or Geertruida (Slot had him at Feyenoord), and possibly a highly-rated young Brit as backup.

See them bring in an elite No 6 too.

Liverpool's reaction to only winning the PL

People will say Levy spends but we all know it goes on potential. 3 Legit, ready-made stars in one window? Not the model these days.

Firstly, fuck Levy. But they are gonna lose at least one, maybe more of their bona fide blue chip players this summer. Secondly they spent almost nothing last summer, so off course they are in a strong position to spend.

Wanted him for ages. I’d be shocked if we got him.
Also very much doubt that we've made any concrete bids for any players at this point in time, possibly we've made some enquiries with his agent, but officially sorting out deals months before the TW opens, whilst not totally out of the question, isn't a very us thing to do.

It's strange to look ahead to the coming TW tbh, firstly, I find it difficult to really assess the current players, barring an obvious couple, due to the handicap that they're all playing under. So deciding who to cut loose isn't straight forward. Deciding whether to retain Tel is more difficult than just looking at his lack of impact and deciding against, as I don't feel it's really fair to assess him, EVERYONE looks shit, is he himself actually shit or is it the system making him look shit like it's making everyone else look shit?

Then in terms of incomings, the only thing I can say for certain is that there is no player in world football who could come in and turn this shit sandwich into an appetising meal. Without change in the coaching staff, anyone we sign will at best just follow the tried and tested path of looking good for a few games and then slipping into the collective malaise that pervades the rest of the squad. At worst they'll start off shit and remain shit.

I guess the thing about Lange and that structure is the squad build isn’t dependent on the coach.
Even if the coach should get a final veto on the specific player, the profile is a club decision.

We’re shocking atm but the players aren’t abss absolved of responsibility. No matter what happens with Ange, Biss and Bentancur can go. Richy needs to move on regardless.

Tel I agree is more complicated. His performance vs Fulham is enough for me to see we would make a mistake not keeping him. Not for 60m though.
