We better get used to signing 18 year olds until all this is built.

Airfixx Airfixx . Genuinely interested to hear your thoughts on the formation of our 4 new residential tower blocks.

Nice even balance? Could the two wing backs be pushed up a bit? Flat back four?

What ya think, Bro?

Man united are still a huge draw.

United are doing everything they can to lower their wage bill. Still reported high 200k ( i suspect thats over inlfated)but lower than the 300k sancho got.

Son money

Suspect since Tanguy we are reluctant to offer 200k pw for a new signing, especially as our biggest club legend isn’t even on that and wages only go ups

Mbeumo wanted 250k pw last I saw reported but who knows.

Either way, if we have Frank and CL football, it’s most likely wages are the biggest factor in his decision if that’s where he goes

Likewise I think we're all interested to hear your thoughts on:

-Who should we sign?
-What our realistic transfer targets are?
-What positions need filling the most in our team
-Your dream transfer target
-What would make this window a solid 8/10 and above in your book

Ok go...

Democracy is shit, caters to the lowest common denominator.

I see it as cowardly. Leadership isn't supposed to be an easy job and it involves being unpopular by making unpopular decisions. A good leader delegates, but still retains responsibility to that delegation.

When things like the EU referendum came along, it felt like DC didn't want to shoulder an unpopular decision. Pushing that onto the public was always going to be a society-breaking action. People in the transfer threads argue about stuff we don't actually make decisions on, but if we had to agree and make transfer decisions I think we'd be collectively awful at it - with the likes of Boufal being ones that we rightly didn't sign.

In terms of the club, it suspect it would be the same. Thinking of all the players that we did sign that people, at the time, did want but have the luxury of blaming the club for. "Back the manager" is the battle cry that has an asterisk of "as long as he agrees with me", because it is seldom appreciated that a lot of the shit we've signed has been by the request of the manager lusting over particular players.

One of the things I appreciate about the way the club is run is that there's no attempt to dodge responsibility. I don't think I've ever seen us (at board level) point fingers at a manager or a player, but you get the likes of Levy saying "people are always going to blame me, but I have broad shoulders". It would be valid, but ineffective, to go "hold up - we signed player X because Manager Y wanted him. It's not our fault they were both incompetent".

They sold Mctominay last Summer for Ugarte who's on much higher wages? They signed De Ligt last Summer who is on 200k a week with them now. Now they've signed Mbeumo and Cunha who will both be on over 200k a week.

Don't be gassing them up with this huge draw nonsense. The truth is they offer way higher wages than anyone else enquiring about the player! Real Madrid were in for Yoro last year as a young prospect. United came in and offered him 120k a week. For an 18 year old with no experience! Real Madrid walked away laughing - they were only looking at offering him a 30k a week contract and to loan him out. Spare me this nonsene that United are doing everything they can to lower their wage bill. Why not build around Amad (120k a week) and Garnacho (75k a week) instead of just buying more 200k+ a week players to effectively replace them ?
