i can't shake the feeling that Levy has built the future on non football income. Looking at the extracurricular events such as concerts, Rugby of both codes, NFL, boxing, probably cricket in some form, and the boat race if he could swing it. Include hiring out the training ground for International teams and ENIC would have a substantial revenue stream on a regular basis.

Now factor in a highly likely London based NFL team, which would sell out every game. Crowds at these games come early and stay late, spending money all day in both the stadium and 'Europe's biggest megastore.'
Compare that to a relatively short window of spending for Herbert's like us and you can see where the big bucks are. That would be quite a monstrous cuckoo in our cockeral's nest.

Levy, for it is he, would not be too perturbed were we to become a mid table team. He knows that the club will still have a good core support and may be happy with us just to pay the rent.

Appointing NFL coaches would be someone else's problem, he has a team to book concerts and can say yes to just about any other sport wanting the place and he could just sit in his big chair stroking his white cat.

I think we should be told.

I wish we all did a bit more critiquing of the reasons why spurs haven't won a trophy since 2008 season.

I'd really rather not just fall back into the robotic habitual cycle of "wow we've bought an untested but exciting talent in summer transfer window, he's going to be the difference this year!!".......to "look at us go! Fighting at the top for the first 15 matches"......... To....... "this group is so unreliable, it MUST be the manager"........ To...... " Yay!! New manager. Here we go, this is the year"....... To...... "we need a new summer transfer signing to replace the outgoing star player."...... To....... "Look at all this exciting new talent!?!!!!"........... To........... "5th place finish, SOLID. We can build on that".........to........."lets do a rebuild and fix this mess"

It really helped that over the last 18 months many of us probably became quite emotionally unattached, and personally, I plan to remain so I til Levy's gone. What's the definition of insanity again? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results? Well...we've tried pretty much everything under ENIC.

We've been slagging off the trophies we're likeliest to win the entire time ENIC have been here, let's start there.

Spurs are one of the most decorated clubs and England, and have also won the top flight and/or European Cup a combined two times ever and never since 1961.

The glory, glory nights of this club's history almost all came in competitions that it is apparently now financially savvy to disregard in favor of quixotic quests to come fourth in a league in which we're the fifth highest spenders on a good day.

Let's fucking win the Europa Conference League next year. Stick it in UEFA's eye making this stupidly constructed competition meant to give small nations and leagues a chance. Hey Albania, we're a rich behemoth from London, sit on it. :tobyarm:

5 points off 4th with 4 games to go. There is still a (slim) chance we could qualify.

You don't agree, I understand that. You'd feel different if you supported Spurs though.
There’s a chance, a 1 in 8 chance.....we’ve done brilliantly to get involved after this bastard of a season. If only pinhead binned the cunt six weeks earlier

Part of the reason is our idiot fans get carried away and this spreads to the players.

Example: look at the 'Let's all laugh at Gooners' thread. Created during the 11-12 season, when we were at one point 13 points ahead... yet we finished behind them.

Some of our fans never seem to learn, either: lost count of the number of times before Woolwich (a) we have people writing about how 'confident' they are... of winning a fixture that we've won twice in 28 years. Even if the form guide was LLLLLL for them and WWWWWW for us, I wouldn't be confident.

Too many of our fanbase think that 'banter' is important and you need to 'give it' in the build-up to big games, like those two jokers on WeAreTottenham TV.

What this does is means fans of all clubs want to beat us and this transmits through to their players, so their players raise their games against us.

Basically, more fans need to be like me, Cockney and Arc.

Lads to a man.

That’s not 100% confirmed

no CL, reduced PL income and who knows whether it will be full capacity and fully utilised

it won’t be 200M up vs 2019/20 that’s for sure
We're not in the CL now .... and post Covid with NFL and another dozen major events turnover may well be another 200m up on 19/20 .... it sure as hell won't be disastrously down ... and as you point out we still have naming rights to sell.

Levy may be a footballing fool but he knows his finances ... might I suggest better than you?

Not at all in terms of value of the club, which is mainly based on net assets plus future mid-term income/profits which would already include fans being back, what you are doing is mixing up short term income reduction going back to previous levels with value of the club. On the basis of where you are coming from club would be worthless currently as heavy loss-making.

But the potential outlook which means our ongoing value could diminish includes :-

Premier League brand has been diminished over last few weeks, and the weekend just gone.
TV rights are coming up for renewal and have already been offered to the incumbents and rejected at prior levels, one of the players for UK rights, BT Sport has already said will not be renewing.
We are looking a long way away from Champions League and the extra revenue we have previously enjoyed/almost taken for granted, and will probably need to invest heavily to get back there.
Plus the threat of legislation being placed on clubs, which could be the most damaging of all in terms of value.

Your opinion fair enough .... but all that hyperbole applies equally to every club in the EPL ... all the signs point to a growing brand, larger TV audiences and income, and the game growing worldwide.

It's why investors were willing to bet 4.5 billion on the ESL - they didn't do that because football was dying.

You are the one using short term speculation - no European football, lower TV rights, legislation - against the long term historic trends that all point in an upwards direction.

Guess only time will tell .....

Of course he does but I’m calling out your fucking BS, not his management.
19/20 we were in CL, and your lordship still saw a 60M drop in revenue from the prior year (460 in 18/19 to 400). That’s gonna drop to 320’ish this season 20/21. And if he knows his finances as you say, he will be well aware he’s overseen a 140M (c.30%) annual drop.

NFL and events will help increase this again, at a push offset some of the 80M lost CL revenue (unlikely all IMO) but prob won’t add 200M to 18/19. At a push, revenue might bounce back to 460M if stadiums are full and we do a shit load of events

do events go to the FC P and L?

We had a big drop. Seems like two reasons for that. One was a £45m difference between an CL final in 19 and a QF in 20. And there was another £55m of tv money deferred until this season. Obviously we won’t get the CL money this season, but the deferred cash will show up this year.

Mate if our income drops back to pre-stadium levels of 320m a year and then peaks at 460m then your bullshit will be right and my bullshit will be wrong.

You want to have a charity wager on that? you can choose the charity ....
