Transfers The Winter Transfer Thread - 25/26

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Seems the current noise is it’s almost exactly like when Levy was here. We’ll be looking for opportunities, leaving it late in the window, the same old shit. The Lewis Family is just ENIC rebranded.

If they wanted to change things, you go and identify the two best players that aren’t at super clubs and make offers their clubs can’t turn down and the players wages they can’t turn down. But it’s same old, same old.

They aren't ENIC rebranded, they are ENIC!

He’s not like Simons physically. He’s 6ft tall and physically stronger.

Im certain we have decided to simply destroy a generation of talented young French footballers as a kind of payback....so who did LeParisien LeParisien piss off so badly that we've under taken this course of action the last time there was this much young French carnage Richard Sharpe was hacking them down at Talavera.

At least we now know the Lewis family bollox about new on the pitch ambition was a lie and it's business as usual.

So maybe Frank is the perfect guy for them really, won't rock the boat trying to win titles, happy to work with what he's given and take the abuse.

Might as well extend Davies and richarlison contract while they're at it
At the risk of sounding repetitive I am amazed anyone thought we were going to do something we have never done under ENIC. Spend an obscene amount of money on transfers. To be fair, ENIC have always spent but not on wages and that is the issue. Chavs have Sterling pissing around with the Academy players earning 300k a week for the rest of this season and next. Does is stop them? No, they dive straight back in. We get burnt by Ndombele and shit the bed at the thought of paying anyone 200k plus a week. Whether you like it or not here is the predicament.
- We are owned by an investment company
- Their job is to increase the value of their portfolio for their investors
- They have done that by making us a multi entertainment venue;
- and leveraging our name, history and logo to exploit every commercial avenue they can
- Football success is not part of their plan, they don't need it to be successful as investors

Take all the above and remember we owe over 250m on transfers and I would wager there won't be the needle moving signings you expect. Honestly, I am not sure why any of you would think Viv and Nick would be any different... what, because they told you they would??? Come on!!! Don't be so gullible!!!

The only way we enact change is by not renewing season tickets, not showing up at the stadium, not buying merchandise and basically not giving a shit about the club. As we all know, that isn't going to happen and honestly, the club is probably comfortable with tourists filling up the stadium rather than fans with season tickets. Tourists, don't have an emotional attachment to the score, aren't going to boo and won't call the owners cunts!!!

No brainer.

How do we tell Locatelli that he needs to leave Juventus for us. Him and his family are massive Juve fans.

He's also their Captain and since Spalleti is there they have a chance to get back in a title race.

We just have to get smarter, I blame us entirely. We keep hiring people who don’t have the first clue about how to do their jobs effectively - from board level to managers and players.

The problem with having limited people at the top is they don’t hire good people below them who may outshine them and take their job - so you just get layers of mediocrity. We’re crying out for someone with some footballing vision, or a nutty multi billionaire who would happily go bust in the pursuit of seeing us win

People won't care..... They just spout names (and made-up guff about war-chests) and then get angry when they don't happen.

My knowledge of football beyond the PL (and even then....) isn't great so sticking to what I know;

Highly unlikely City sells Trafford in this window but if it's a loan with option then we ought to be interested. Can't sit through much more of Vicario. When he pushed that Sunderland shot over the bar on Sunday instead of parrying and collecting I thought what a cunt.

Antonee Robinson from Fulham, if possible. A left footed left back who's both accomplished in defending whilst a threat going forward would be nice. Rico Henry is also an interesting option. Think both have had some injury concerns which can't be ignored.

Fuck knows for the midfield; it ain't Wharton or Anderson, those two would be certifiable if they even considered Spurs at this moment in time, and both will have their pick post WC. If Newcastle remain in financial strife Lewis Miley is a good player. Confident receiving the ball under pressure and can make up fifteen, twenty + yards with a drop of the shoulder. is Joao Gomes at Wolves any good? Alex Scott?

Marmoush would be the player I'd love to see come in. Seems to have fallen foul of Pep's idiosyncrasies regarding certain players.

So prepare to welcome Calum Wilson and Ross Barkley.

Noticed that AFCON is changing to very 4 years from 2028 onwards. So there's just the two years between this one and the next one to tolerate before the change occurs. I guess it means there'll be an uptick in African based players in the Premier League. Makes me wonder if that's where the club is looking now.

There's gonna be one in 2027 and another in 2028, then it'll be every 4 years. But they're introducing an African Nations League to make up for it, so there'll still be plenty weeks African players won't be available for their clubs.
