Transfers The Winter Transfer Thread - 25/26

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Nathaniel Brown and Adam Wharton would be my priority this window. That £150m should get both - even in January.

Wharton is a fabulous player on the ball, less so off the ball. Could pair nicely with Palhina in a double pivot.

Under a possession and attacking oriented manager I think he can be brilliant, under Frank?

If this half season is anything to go by, Wharton will spend 90% of his time defending and when he gets the ball he'll have no one to pass forward too.

If we do not have the players creating many chances,

1 The best strikers are not keen to join
2 strikers joining spurs are not likely to do much better than the current crew.

That's why buying strikers over a creative midfielder etc makes no sense
We have players who can create chances, they're just not allowed to by our dinosaur of a manager and his scaredy cat tactics.

Besides, the best strikers don't need much, they find ways to feed on scraps and still produce solid numbers. Harry Kane did it for years here. Don't tell me someone like Osimhen, Alvarez, Lautaro, Ramos or Rodrygo wouldn't fare better at Spurs than Richy but especially Solanke.

Anyway, in an ideal world we'd have football ops people who know their shit and can address all our issues, instead of always leaving us short in one or several areas. I might be wrong, but having things like a quality goalie, a reliable RCB, a RB who's not a moron, 2 x CMs who can fight & play, a CAM who can handle it physically, a LW who can actually cross & score, and an elite ST...I dunno, feels to me as if that's what would make us competitive at the level the 9th richest club in the world should be.

I actually think a LB is probably the key transfer we need.

A proper LB will balance out that wing very nicely, and even allow us to play something of an inverted winger off that side while maintaining width.

Could really suit someone like Tel, who could come into the channel and link up with Xavi/ST/LB on that side

Which in turn would do Kudus some favours as well - granting him more space to work in

Would be sort of lop sided, but would get players in the positions we want them to be in

(not saying it would be an ideal window, just the biggest impact move IMO)
We have Hollands first choice LB in our squad

Other sides are playing versatile CB’s at FB, why do we have a blind spot with VDV

Unless you’re including Kulu and Maddison, there’s no one outside of Xavi who is a natural gifted playmaker in our squad. Porro is probably currently our best and he’s having a poor season

Athletic reporting it as agreed at £35m - Guess Brennan needs to agree to go there, but may wait out other options?

Think he'll be happy to go in all honesty, must have been really strange for him being our biggest goal conributor and scoring the most important goal for Spurs in the last 40 years and still cop as much vitriol as he does on socials. Palace is the perfect kind of level for him, I can certainly see him contributing there based off our game with them over the weekend, certainly would have been far more threatening for us if they were bringing Johnson on at 60-65 mins rather than that absolute waster Nketiah.

Deal agreed but player hasnt accepted it yet....

Crystal Palace have reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur over a deal to sign Brennan Johnson, although the winger still needs to decide on his future before the situation is finalised.

A fee approaching £35million (€40m; $47m) is in place between the clubs for Johnson, who also has interest from other suitors over a move in the January market.
