Transfers The Winter Transfer Thread - 25/26

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Very funny. I don't think I am saying that.

Do you want to see hump it and lump it football as long as it brings us victories or something a bit more fluid?

If the former is enough for you then fine. I don't think the majority of Spurs fans would like to see that kind of approach but just think of the increased revenue Bayern and Barcelona will get.
I want whatever football gives us the best chance to win. I don't care if it's Cruyff total football or Jose terrorball. I would assume that for most supporters, winning is more important than the style of football being played.

All due respect lads but arguing over whether Yildiz or Diomande is a better signing for us is like two lads down the Dog and Duck pub arguing over whether Margot Robbie or Beyonce should be no. 1 on their list of birds they get a pass for

These kids probably couldn't even spell Curriculum Vitae, so let's not cheapen the meaning of it by offering false equivalence to kids that have dropped out of school at a young age to kick a ball around.

You understand what I mean though

As we’ve learnt painfully recently, the PL is no place for the vast majority of teenagers these days. Experience really counts.

Yildiz is not the same in terms of experience as this Diomande kid. Tel was further ahead when we signed him.

I don't mind being successful with Jose ball if it brings in the silverware.
After all, we have spent years, decades even, playing pretty football but can't defend.
I don't want to watch us win or lose 4-3 , rather see a solid 2-0.
Only problem with Jose ball is, if results don't go to well the style starts to bore the punters quickly.

Mourinho I agree....never a good fit for us despite being a serial winner who had seen better days. His style of play and management turned the playing staff and most of the fanbase against him so much he was sacked on the eve of a cup final without so much as a whimper of protest.

Conte was slightly different in that he did well in the beginning and orchestrated one of the most enjoyable NLD nights seen at the new stadium. The two deaths of his lifelong friends and colleagues were main contributors to his head gone moments and it became obvious he didn't want to be here anymore.

The secret of a pragmatic approach is firstly to not get beaten and then to produce a winning formulae, failure to do so tests the patience of the fans.

More patience is given to those who employ an attacking philosophy but even that is short lived if the results go against us and so the management merry go 🎠 round keeps turning.

Conte is the best coach we've had in the modern era. And yes, better than Poch.
He's proving he's still at the very top of his game at Napoli.

Said it before, will say it again.
We shouldn't have sacked him. We should have asked him to fix all the (real, genuine) problems he listed in his rant.

I did the maths and tbh this is more like a break even on book value anyway. Between 35-37m is exactly even for what the transfer has cost us over 2 years so far.
Sorry but Levy would see it as a loss and not do it , the best example of this was David Bentley . I am not saying Levy was right to think that way , but he could never accept people getting one over on him , as he saw it .

He was the master at cutting off his nose to spite his face

Links to the like of Gallagher, and some other midfielders, are beginning to concern me.

Im not sure how/where a player like this is supposed to fit.

We have Bergvall, Gray and Sarr as 8s all of whom need minutes.
Xavi and Maddison as 10s
Palinha as a 6. I think Bentancur is meant to be as well, but he's not is he?

Gallagher is best as a high pressing disruptive player (sounds very Frank) but Im just not sure I see the benefit in getting him in.
