I think you are right that we need to be smarter in how we operate, which Levy might have said is what we were trying to be.
Look, I'm comfortable that we can't compete against certain clubs in terms of appeal at the moment, probably linked more to likelihood of success as much as it might be about the remuneration package, althoighI wholly accept money comes into play, but is not always the determinant in my opinion..
Where we do fall short, but no more than West Ham, Everton and United for example is that we either buy players without doing enough due diligence or that we can't quite find a manager who has flexibility in their philosophy but also has absolutely shown they can develop players and to be competitive.
Where I think we went wrong with both Postecoglou and Frank, not that I was anything but in favour of both appointments is that we have failed to foresee the limitations of both. That is of course the challenge.
We are both close and far from getting it right, and by that, I mean nobody can know when something moght work and when it won't. Nobody.
I think the 'terrible' supporters should try some self depricating chants.
